I don't know the issues concerning Solomon Water. All I know is, as a resident of Honiara, some times we go without water for 2 or three days, at least where I live.

Ok just a point question on GDLs affiliation with logging companies in solomon islands.

In one instance, there were no compliance with the law at all. The operation was illegal, no timber rights hearing only showed up in form 1 and 2 got stopped by forestry from progessing to form 3 & 4.

Other causes of actions are trespass no permission by landowners chiefs decision obtained the culprit wanted to claim 40 different blocks of land ridicolous and unheard of in solomon islands, environmental breach and conversion.

The records from exports show the license for export were not in form 1,2,3 or 4.

Totally illegal.

Raised this point with lawyer at AGs office advised to go for consent when Forestry office admits breaches of forestry law.

Enviromental damages Mas Solomon Investment Ltd v Nesa court of Appeal Solomon Islands.

This Chinese Malaysian and their local operator steal big time. Shares 20,000,000 and 50,000,000 shares according to company haus records on shareholders.

A relative from overseas said govt tax ..it should nor be obtained because its illegal.

Its time the government pays for its sins despite Grace logging court of appeal no bond for third partys except government makes sense.


Solomon islands legal system is based on 3 sources of law common law equity and custom.

All must be applied equally

Instead of remove the solomon water as sig entity, the sig should cut down the rate that people pay. The rate of the waterbis too high. Solomon Islands is the country around the world that charge highest rate of water consumption. Water is life and should be cheaper commodity in Solomon Islands. The highest rate charged by solomon water affect many families in solomon islands that depend on getting water from rivers and streams for cooking, washing and drinking. SIG should supply water free to the people living in Honiara and urban areas. Solomon Islands is full of water and the government duty and obligation to the people of solomon islands is to supply them with clean fresh water.
