Defense and heavily contested shots are far more exciting than hoisting up 50 half courts. Frequent 3 point shooting can get stale and boring quickly.

I was at this game and I remember just how physical and defensive oriented. It was an MJ got MVP. It was a glorious time for basketball. Now basketball is nothing but three-pointers and no defense at all and is so boring.

How exactly did Steve Johnson get selected to this game? I know they West felt they needed 3 centers but...yeesh. I would loved to have seen Otis Thorpe get chosen. He averaged 20 and 10 that year.

That was a great game! They all looked like they were having fun. It would have neen intresting to see Isaiah Thomas play with Michael Jordan a bit more. They didnt like each other a few years after this but they seem to play well together. Magic and Kareem were always incredible together but in this game i did see some connection between Magic and Olajuwon and it looked so smooth!! A lot of great chemistry in this game, but I guess it was always going to be a great game when all of these players come out and want to win.
