My community is small so most of my dating has been through apps. I used to ask so many questions chatting beforehand and eliminate people really fast. I’ve stopped doing that and allowed someone to be in front of me— for something simple like a coffee. If it doesn’t work out, maybe we’ll end up as friends and they’ll introduce me to someone else.

I really do prefer to be friends with someone and see how they behave and show up in a friendship and then if things organically move in that direction, consider dating. But that doesn’t seem super popular as an approach (at least in my experience).

I am pretty detail oriented with people so I’ll remember things about them even if I don’t like them. 😂 It’s just how my brain works. I’m trying to give people grace with what they can recall- not everyone is good with that stuff and I’ve noticed people who lived a harsh lifestyle may not remember things too easily about anyone. Basically if it’s something they might not have full control over, I’m not going to judge them for it or use it as exclusionary criteria- we can have a house of post it notes one day if necessary.

Enjoy your weekend and the movie!

My new film recommendation is "Chuck Chuck Baby" which I saw at Hebden Bridge (of course) film festival. Directed by an actual Lesbian. It's funny, touching, and beautiful.

I'm having zero success even getting a date so far. Dating apps seem to be a dead loss for me and the local community is lovely, but small and really just aimed at 'friendships'. ah well :/

Is it hard to date only vegans? (I assume if you don‘t want someone to have meat or fish in front of you they‘d be vegan too)

I‘m a vegan and while it would be nice to only date vegans- I think that would eliminate virtually everybody.

Oh my , gosh😮. You are sooo correct!!! I am in an age gap relationship and you should 🙉 hear!!! Fortunately, we both don't care. Sometimes I say, "I'm sharing with you. I am not asking for your opinion." If it's they are nasty about it. I remind myself and I tell them. "Your opinion of me, has nothing to do with me." Of course I say it with a smile😁

Wise words! I am so much more careful with certain things these days. I want to honor my own thoughts and feelings and I don’t necessarily enjoy or appreciate input from others about certain things. 👏
