Why the M109R is INSANE and why you don't want one

What do you prefer between the boulevard and the Vmax ??

I been looking at getting one of these and my buddy has a ninja 650 that tops out at like 130 would we be able to still ride together if I got a m109r

I had a very hard time deciding between the Honda VTX1800, and the M109. I landed on the VTX, both have almost the same power(107HP/122ft-lb torque), which felt more cruiser like on the M109, while the VTX felt a little lazier down low in the range, they both have power everywhere, and dutifully put that power to the ground when you want it, or perform a smoke show, whatever. The brakes and transmission on the VTX feel a bit more suitable for this style riding than on the 109, in the end, I was able to save about $1500 by buying the VTX, and so far have zero regrets. In a race, both stock, the M109 feels like would pull ahead, but not enough to matter, both bikes are capable. This is Suzuki's answer to the VTX, which came out in 1999 followed by more models in the next few years, so you'd expect it to be very close, but I didn't get that feel that it was pulling as strong as the VTX, I could be wrong, it's hard to really compare bikes as an average consumer, I think maybe it comes down to the small stuff, for me the VTX, especially the F1 looks better, handles better, pulls harder...but still loses something to the M109, a pseudo sporty feel, I think, but it's a cruiser/muscle bike, so who cares. I probably would have bought an M109 if I didn't fall into the deal I did, just being honest, and I like how the M109 sounds a LOT more, let's admit it, that's a big part to this kind of bike, so that's what the aftermarket is for =). I also owned an S40, which I did not like the metal used to make that bike at all, it would probably rust up if you spit on it :\ that may have weighed in as well.

The clunky 2nd gear he's talking about was fixed in later years and can be fixed in the earlier ones with a kit Suzuki sells for about $100.

Went from my M50 to the M109R, not disappointed.

Bought mine new September 2008 & still got it , that one is more 2016 not 2006.

The M109 is a puppy compared to my cruiser. Give me a break. Drag race? Lololololol, bring your money.

2010 Concourse 14 & 2006 M109R owner here. I love them both. But two different rides. Will likely sell my M109 eventually because I just don’t ride it enough.

Funny you mentioned the "clunky" gearing from 1st - 2nd b/c I've read about a fair number of transmission issues w/ some
of these bikes. I don't know what the numbers are but it's a beast of a bike & any bad habits in your clutch/gear workings
can lead to the 2nd gear popping out into neutral. And fixing the problem means the whole engines got to come out to get

I have 21 model, good for the Aussie coast rides... I'm 44 I will never sell. Bought new now 7000km . I need to ride it more. I love Harley riders saying it has to much plastic...... corners and drags.. enjoy

In 2009 I bought a new M90. It’s been a great bike , has never needed anything but rubber and brakes. The M50 was a great bike also, which I had before the M90. Thanks for the Video 👍

I had 2 guys on m109r pull up next to me while I was riding my 2016 v-rod. They started talking crap. Let's just say after we raced I was looking at them in my mirror.

My buddy/neighbor already had an M109R. So i went for the Raider. Even tho the Raider has the bigger engine. The Boulevard still leaves the Raider. I love them both tho. You cant go wrong with either choice.

I've had a 2006 for 18 years. Fitted with a ten inch Coastal Moto rear rim and 280 mm Metzeler tire. Two into one exhaust. LA Choppers Big Air intake. Under seat tuner. Many others. Still ove the bike. Also have a 2008 Suzuki GSX1300 B-King and a 2021 Honda CBR 600RR.

Have a new 2024 m109r! The 2nd gear deal is fixed. Its all smooth on them now! Its an absolute horse! This bike is very comfortable riding. And if you want. You can smoke most sports bikes out there. Its fast its comfortable! I love it!

When you are 5’8 it’s hard to reach the gear pedal on the 2006 m109r

I own the m109r, I find the Harley Vrod Muscle to be even more crazy

just picked up a 2008 and I'm 6'7" and 380lbs. and i have to say i finally found my bike lol its so comfortable

Wow, this Suzuki M 109R is one of the most underrated muscle cruisers that’s absolutely fast for fraction of the price of most of the other bikes in this class👍 outstanding video thank you🏆

Put them on,, it was the crappiest sound ever. Like a single cork pop gun toy going real fast,,,,,
