The Ocean First Discovery Center

Ocean First, in partnership with Ocean First Education and Ocean First Institute, is thrilled to offer this opportunity for eight students to receive a scholarship to work with Dr. Mikki and her incredible team of educators once a week for three months.

Scholarships will include all expenses paid for 14 classes, one class per week, spread throughout three months. Students can choose between in-person or virtual programming taught by Ocean First Institute's resident shark biologist, Dr. Mikki McComb-Kobza, and her amazing educational team.

The Ocean First Discovery Center is the first interactive marine science education center in Northern Colorado. Located at our state of the art facility in Boulder, we offer hands-on marine science education to 6th-12th grade students, providing unique opportunities for students right here in the Rockies. The Ocean First Discovery Center educational programming will be facilitated by Ocean First Institute’s Executive Director, Mikki McComb-Kobza, PhD., renowned marine biologist and internationally acclaimed shark expert.
