Great 😊
ОтветитьSame old stuff make the application process such that it is in print so small it is not legible. Nothing new here same old misinformation
ОтветитьReaching out for help from anyone. I served in the US Air Force from 69-73. I am honorably dischared as a Viet Nam Era veteran. While working appropriately 10 years ago I tried to get my VA medical card. I was told by the VA I made to much money. Funny when I signed up for the military nothing was mentioned about that. I just want my VA card. Im now retired and living on Social security and a very small pension. What can I do. I jist moved from Florida to Massachusetts to live out my remaining years
ОтветитьFacilitator means what ?
Ответитьthanks to the info. Served 1965-1968 in the USAF. Got the GI Bill and little else.
ОтветитьThank you once. Thank you twice. Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart.
ОтветитьThis is what I do know because it what happened with my case.
I served in The Marine's 73-79 had a jeep roll over accident in 77 and back when there was no cat scans or mri's only x-rays.
So I was given Opiates and never knew that it had fractured 3 of my vertebraes and as Marine's we're taught to take the pain and the opiates only helped mask it.
After I was Honorably Discharged Year's l later those Vertebraes got so far out of line I was in so much pain I went to The V.A. E.R. where I've been registered since I was Discharged, and after my many time's (year's of complaining) about the pain my neck was causing in my spine and my entire left side especially my left arm I was ignored and time and agian never taken seriously.
It took my threaten staff and a trip to the 5th floor (Lock Down phyc ward Single Room) to get attention still it took 5 day's of pleading with the Dr's and Nurses and shots in my left arm every morning that didn't help to Finally get an MRI.
As soon as I was rolled out of That MRI I was put on a gurney and a c- collar placed around my neck and scheduled for emergency surgery.
Because that's how close one of the vertebraes to severing my spinal cord, and told if I'd of been pushed.. slipped..fallen..I'd of been dead before I hit the floor.
Anyhow I know it was from all due to that jeep roll over accident while serving on active duty even the surgen had said that the damage to the 3 vertebraes took decades to deteriorate to the condition in which they were but he couldn't say anything because even though he works A Private Hospital it's still outsourced through Tricare so he couldn't assist with any Nexus Letter.
I filed Anyways but Denied because I told I didn't file within one year after Discharge and I've I been Denied 3x's even after 4 more spinal surgeries.
But The VA had determined because I am over The age of 67 and Unemployable due to the spinal surgeries and not able to function normally, I was Awarded Non Service Connected Disability which today is $1,397.00 and I'm due for a 5th surgery in January.
Now I don't even know is I'm going to be on the chopping block to lose Those benifits.
I don't collect ssdi because long ago it was rumoured that trump was going to be cutting that if ever elected no mention about Our VA compensation and pensions.
But I didn't want to have any part of the social security disability income only to have it taken by trump and now it seems as if he's gotten elon set in place to do it to both (Veteran's and Social Security Recepients).
I served in the Army from 70-76. What is the definition of elderly?
ОтветитьWasted my time!
ОтветитьWait until the lifers that are 100% disabled that are getting a pension, you going to lose one.
ОтветитьPlease touch base with me....❤.
ОтветитьGood INFO. I will be 86 YO in a week. 1year, 67-68 as advisor in the field. I am rated at 90% disabled being paid 100%. In wheel chair. I DO use the local VA clinic and am SATISIFIED. My question IS what % of my VA pension will my wife, no children, receive after I pass away. I have searches all over and can NOT get an answer..
ОтветитьHow to a get the website?
ОтветитьGood intentions, but the truth is they put so many hoops to jump through that it's difficult to get what's needed. We tried for my Dad, a WWII veteran, but he died before we could get through all of their hoops. As soon as we got through one they added another one. As for myself, a veteran also, I have no confidence in getting any aid from the VA if and when the time comes.
ОтветитьVA is useless to most real vets!
ОтветитьGet it while you can before Trump eliminates Veteran's benefits and compensation.
ОтветитьThank You!
ОтветитьMy husband speaks: I am 89 years old. Drafted into the army between the Korean viet nam wars. I lost my career from being drafted 8 months after graduating from Ohio University and 1 month after being married. Also lost my marriage and 2 children. It took me 20 years to recover and get back into the art career I dreamed of doing all the years of my youth. I have not been eligible for any benefits from VA. I have my own health insurance. I spent over a year in Korea. It was by far the most miserable area in the world 1959 , 1961. Most of my life has been ruined.I guess it is OK that Trump says we are all suckers and losers.
ОтветитьVet benefits will be under attack by Trump and his administration!
You voted for Trump and are a vet, you voted to hurt yourself!
Just like all of the other information about Veterans, totally meaningless when you are a non-combat, non service-connected 2ND-Class citizen within the VA System: no money, no pension, no special equipment, no travel pay. Just info for retirees only and useless to a "non-combat" draftee.
ОтветитьIn Idaho, I suggest that vets contact the Idaho State Veterans' Office... It is free... My rep was the senior one (retired Marine Sgt. Major) and got me on a post 65 income supplement... Following a number of strokes, he took the VA doctor's form and then filled out all the rest. Walking with a cane these days, blind in one eye, unable to drive...balance issues... largely a shut-in. My brain box still works, but at 75 I'd find paperwork complicated... He prepared it all...submitted it by computer and within a few months I had enhanced disability payments. Appointments easy to make and people there committed to helping vets get what they are entitled to... YP
ОтветитьMy Dad tried to get benefits for years for injuries in WW2 that had gotten worse with age.. All the service men record's where burnt up in a fire. the last few years of he's life he finally had a little help with Meds, it was very disturbing to me.
Ответитьwhere's my V.A. benefits.? In 74 on a training exercise in Texas when the 82nd Abn Div. jumped into Ft. Hood I destroyed my ankle, spent 3 months in the Hosipital , 2 surgeries . When I got out 2 weeks later, I went to the V.A. office in San Diego the V.A. didn't even want to talk to me. Went back for 3 days and same story, come back tomorrow. That was 50 years ago. Where's my check.
ОтветитьCataract surgery office asked to see my insurance. I showed them a veterans health insurance I.D. They laughed and said you can always use it as a I.D. card.
ОтветитьThank you for this very informative video!!!
ОтветитьI am a 79 year old Vietnam "era" veteran that was stationed in Germany and America only! Am I eligible for anything extra? I am not low income. I was not able to even tet a written response from my local V.A. Clinic in Decatur Illinois when I looked for help getting my expensive hearing aids. They say my records were burned up in St. Louis, it was like talking to walls when I tried to get any help or real information!
ОтветитьDon't let your babies grow up to be gunmen, sailors, or airmen and forget about policemen or firemen. They will suffer from all the risks they are expected to take. They will trust in promises and be cheated of life and liberty. They will die seeing a Trump-like politician in office calling them suckers. The solution is to stay away from any recruiters in fancy uniforms. In the Vietnam 'conflict' men were drafted .
ОтветитьMy father passed away in June of 2024 at 94 years old and was a korean war era marine. After he fell and broke 3 ribs and punctured a lung at 93 years old,,while cutting small tree branches at home, the VA went above and beyond with home health care, cash payments to help pay bills, etc. Their help made all the difference.
As a peacetime veteran myself, although i dont need any sort of help, they really go the extra mile on health checks and tests that i dont even think of.
So,,if youre a veteran, make use of those benefits you have earned. It helps to ensure the benefits remain available
... And the inevatable inflation that perpetually marches on??? ... And how much worse one is without an Advocate??? I hope the VA paid you a lot.
ОтветитьThis home assistance is very hard to get, especially if you live outside the country. I am 80 years old, live in the Philippines and need help with just about everything. Also, I am a disabled Veteran. They ask me do you need help with cooking? Can you walk? Can you dress yourself? Do you need help with house cleaning? Let us see you walk. They make it very hard to get this benefit. They closed my application when I couldn't connect and show me walking.
ОтветитьI was told by VA that even though served USMC during Vietnam war that I don't qualify for any medical benefits as I was'nt in-country and did'nt get part of my ass shot off.
ОтветитьI would be helpful if you emphasized the "may be" and "could be" eligible parts of the VA benefits. Most of what you mentioned is NOT going to cover 75% or more of us. I have been very fortunate, as have been a great many of my fellows, in that after we became "catastrophically disabled" in our civilian life, we moved up on the chart from eights to sixes. This allowed for a great many more benefits, including wheelchairs and other equipment. What it doesn't qualify us for is any kind of financial payments. Those are reserved for those who were injured while in the service, as it should be,, or if we happen to be below the poverty line.
I appreciate that you are taking your time to make these videos, and they can be of great help, but if you don't emphasize that most will not be eligible , you are doing many a disservice as the hopes that you give them will be denied and some may denigrate an organization (the VA) that is, in fact, doing a tremendous job.
What about Veterans that served in peace time (or the cold war)?
ОтветитьAs a 74 year old USAF Vietnam veteran, I really appreciate my VA health care even though I generally only need a single annual check up to renew a couple prescriptions. I did also use the VA loan guarantee for the purchase of my first house and the G.I. Bill helped me get a college degree. ~a thankful vet.
ОтветитьGet current. This ain’t happening. 82 yr old combat vet
ОтветитьI recently applied and was given a VA medical ID card. I go for my first appointment in two weeks.
ОтветитьI'm an Honorably discharged Air Force SSGT. I was a crew chief on a kc135, during Vietnam. I was in from 1966 to 1970 with 2 years inactive reserve enlistment. I was not on the ground in Vietnam. I was at Utapao Air Base, Thailand supporting the war. I did get the GI bill to become an electrician. I applied in later years at the VA for benefits after I retired and was turned down. The first thing they wanted was my W2 tax info. I refused to give them that info, so I got a letter turning me down. I signed a contract, that I full filled with the Air Force. I did exactly what I was trained to do and was promoted to SSGT in minimum time. I was married and didn't see my daughter for 6 months. Out of the 4 year enlistment I was gone 2 yrs TDY. Anyway, what does my personal finances have to do with me being an honorably discharged Veteran? You explained all the things you possibly could get, but at the end they show how to apply and I'm pretty sure I would be wasting my time, because again they would want to see my tax records and financial info also probably what I own ? I was told If I had applied before 2005 then I would have been grand fathered in, since the VA laws were changed at that time? I have friends who get benefits that did less than I did as for the time served. Like I said, the killer is how do you apply? I still liked and subscribed.
ОтветитьGreat job!
ОтветитьWhat if you a female vet, 65. Only state side. But serious illnesses from toxic exposure. TERA. Thanks
ОтветитьI don't have money to buy equipment! I need a laser cuter ( 4,000 ) and a CNC router (4,000 ) I'm 81 and have a nice sign shop!
ОтветитьYou didn't tell us anything veterans don't already know.
ОтветитьYou say all these things are available but benefits are not actually available for those not combat injured. The ridiculous income limitations eliminate most of us. I'm 91 and served during Korea, but not in combat so nothing is really available to me.
ОтветитьCan’t get VA help here in Philippines. Can’t get VA medical in only VA Medical Facility outside the US
ОтветитьYou should remind people that if you have a household income of over about $49,000 and have a 0% disability they may not qualify for benefits. That was my case. It cost nothing to file but don't get your hopes up if your not collecting money already.
ОтветитьGod Bless you! Someone that thinks of and cares about senior vets. Great info, you nailed it. Thank you for the info and care for us you show. I had no idea and it is so surprising that there is so much there for us. I look forward to meeting you, Thanks again.
ОтветитьMany vets abuse the system & shouldn't get a nickel. I'm a vet?
ОтветитьHello I am a disabled Vet age 66 getting some benefits but medical is lacking a lot. I loved your presentation and I have a million questions for you but rather than waist your time do you have any7 periodicals that I can reference for help. This is as confusing as the new ssi and ssdi rules and payments Help me understand. Was 6 years Navy and eight years Army and diagnosed with PTSD and various physical problems. My first and most imp[ortant question isv why won't the military treat a medical issue I have that doesn't show up immediately and they won't cover it because they said I didn't complain or was treated for it before I left the service. IE. Major back and Feet issues causing me not to be able to hardly walk or use my hands or bend over or lift. Sometimes my wife has to dress me or bathe me. I think someone made a mistake.
Thank you for being a voice for us veterans.
I’m still trying to navigate through the application process for my pension and there’s no resources to help
ОтветитьDoesn’t matter now! Our new Felon President is about to F over all of the “suckers and losers”, and handing over our country to Russia!
So it doesn’t matter now does it. How can veterans of any war vote against their own needs. It’s a disgrace and slap on the face of those that gave it all! A criminal, traitor, and Russia lover in our White House again!
Thank you for this valuable information!!! Veterans such as myself appreciates your work in keeping us informed of our VA benefits!!👏❤🙏👍😎
