On the point about commentators, I really feel like Smash Ultimate suffered tremendously from ignorant commentary. The amount of wrong things and lies that were told about that game through commentary was mind numbing.

So your comment about wanting someone who knows what they're talking about commenting the big stage, and that not a lot of people really do it right, is such a bigger problem than just the FGC.

I watch a lot of sports, and i think it's safe to say even like the lowest viewership sport you've heard of draws more eyeballs than the hypest hype EVO moments. Some play by play guys make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year calling stuff for like ESPN. And even they rarely seem to know anything about anything. I'm a big NHL guy and the amount of times announcers get the player's names wrong when it's a national broadcast is alarming.

I say all of this to say I appreciate your dedication to the actual craft of commentary, Sajam. It's a dying art.

You LK and jwong are the goats of fgc with yipes as the over lord whenever he shows up. There have been some great additions in the last years but when sajam is reviewing a clinical breakdown by lk the fgc has been blessed

You can probably do an entire video on the commentary aspect. I stopped being into the smash scene mainly becuase thry let people commentate that have no idea what is going on. Commentators need to educate aud8ences and correct misconceptions and even cirtique play when necessary. Its a hard job but it still nerfd to be done well. It can impact your community heavily.
