Watchers by Dean Koontz is a great thriller novel
ОтветитьYou want HORROR? Real horror? Edward Lee. Not some commercial over advertised rubbish. Check out Any but as an introduction I lay Grimoire Diabolique before you. He's stunning. And Clive is stunning!!! Koontz early stuff was magic!!! Rice was great. But it's just not horror. Horror is the book that frightens and disturbs you mentally and physically. You get through Diabolique unscathed... 😈 There is truly no going further to the meat lined rabbit hole. ♥️ You all. Wish we'd all get along better my loves.
ОтветитьBierce, Machen, Laird Barron, M R James, John Buchan, Robert W Chambers, Robert W Howard, and Mark Samuels are all excellent horror writers that didn't make your list.
ОтветитьCarrie: 1974
ОтветитьM.R.James is good and celebrated
ОтветитьWhy not the black house? Cause everyone seen the shining. It's not that underrated Nor is pet cemetery I'm pretty sure The damnation game should have been on there From the looks of it, You've literally been praising the popular ones in the mainstream genre. Why not praise the unpopular ones because? most people are gonna be reading the same books over and over and over again and not know about the other works. They had more works than telltale heart Edgar and Poe had lot more works
ОтветитьA great selection. I like Krtchum but wouldn't put him up with the greats. I'd switch in Robert Aickman.
ОтветитьPeter Straub has passed, sadly.
ОтветитьNobody loves Ambrose Bierce these days 😞
ОтветитьI would add Robert R. McCammon to the list.
ОтветитьStephen King. Bram Stoker. Shirley Jackson. Clive Barker. Dean Koontz. Anne Rice. Edgar Allan Poe. HP Lovecraft. Ramsey Campbell. Richard Matheson. Peter Straub. Ray Bradbury. Dan Simmons. Daphne Du Maurier. Jack Ketchum.
