ОтветитьPlease ditch the music .. its very annoying.
ОтветитьOh my God!! I have NEVER seen such beautiful coliography
ОтветитьThanks a ton, I always wanted to know coliograohy and now.... my friends and family say that they love it. All thanks to you 🎉
ОтветитьWhat would you recommend for a light box to trace letters? So many I see are very similar but I can't find any light box reviews or comparisons. One for home use so it wouldn't have to be batter operated. One for calligraphy and improving overall handwriting.
Do you use one?
The Rhodia paper that comes up is a lined paper and not a grid paper. Any suggestions?
ОтветитьExcellent teacher! Simplicity! Thanks Becca.
ОтветитьI am a Calligraphic Artist. Nice video.
ОтветитьWhat pen do you use
ОтветитьI am not understanding your language
ОтветитьI am 73 and want to try it!
ОтветитьHey, I'm in 10th grade as a dude. And I was inspired to make a cool guild if you will, and I'm trying to standardize letter writing with this. Thank you so much. I'm not like quirky or weird or whatever girls say I just want a cool writing style
ОтветитьI must agree with some of the other comments here. My search was for information on the basic strokes of calligraphy and this site was the first. My father was a professional sign painter and his technique always fascinated me. At my young age I never knew he understood stroke pattern, that he actually took pressure off and lifted his brush to start every “part” of each letter.
I appreciate the simple explanation of the basic strokes. I want more detail and will definitely practice this technique.
I will follow her now. Thank you.
I don’t know how to do any of the strokes!!!!!!!! I thought this was gonna teach me the STROKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ᴖ̈
Ответить❤
ОтветитьCan you suggest the kind of pens to use?
Ответитьwhat happened to the (i) AND (J) I THOUGHT I SEEN THE LETTER (Y) BETWEEN THE( H) AND (K)
Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьInteresting, I was thinking to learn this but it looks difficult. U do it well though. Ty
ОтветитьWhat is the "font" style you're using? I see it everywhere. But don't know the name
ОтветитьI’m a beginner but learning with a fountain pen. Iv not seen one video recommend a fountain pen. Are they harder to use when learning than other pens, like the brush pens?
Awesome video, all of your videos are really informative and easy to understand.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьI'm 77 and this is how we were taught to write at school in the 50s. I didn't realise this was now calligraphy until right now.
ОтветитьThis was a awesome
It's to good provisional
QUESTION: I have a regular calligraphy ink pen with an ink cartridge using a 2.4 nib, not a brush pen. I see the strokes produce a different thick and thin effect than your brush pen. Do you have videos using an ink cartridge calligraphy pen with various size nibs?
ОтветитьTried to sign up for 'showmeyourdrills' but my submission failed. Something not right with this website.
ОтветитьHello! I tried to sign up for your course on the website, but the "sign up" link is not working. I tried it both in Chrome and in Safari, so I'm not sure what's wrong. I'm also wondering, what do you recommend a beginner start with, fountain pen? Marker? I was gifted a calligraphy set from Staedtler that has 5 different nibs, and I have started using it, but I'm not a big fan of these cheap pens and I don't want to develop bad habits. Thanks in advance!
ОтветитьGreat video explaining the absolute basics of calligraphy. Nowadays they don't even teach cursive writing in schools - totally blows my mind! Anyway, you have helped me a lot.🥰
ОтветитьAs a beginner, I can say that this is the best breakdown of calligraphy I have seen so far after watching multiple videos the last few days. This was the first time hearing that cursive and calligraphy are different because calligraphy letters are composed of strokes. So excited to have that base knowledge when I'm practicing the basics! Thank you!
ОтветитьI don't want to sound like the grandpa yelling "get off my lawn," but this is why handwriting still matters. If people took a whole minute to write out a word, lifting their pen after each stroke, they would appreciate the words they write and then speak.
ОтветитьIt might be a good idea to let people know this is called Copperplate.
ОтветитьI love how you explained this, my writing sucks i cant to improve it now 😁👍♥️
ОтветитьYou in one sentence, taught me why I have been doing it wrong for years. Why I couldn’t get it. In just a few minutes you taught me what made perfect sense. Thank you.
ОтветитьThis was a super basic and very informative video thank you
ОтветитьWanting to make a sign for our wedding in May, this video is a great start. Thank you!
ОтветитьNow that is what’s known as a ‘threshold concept’ - this 7 minute tutorial unlocks the fundamentals of calligraphy - brilliant!
ОтветитьBecca is one of the best teachers I have ever seen. This video is a must watch
Ответитьthey're minerals Marie
Ответитьlovely
ОтветитьThis is a genius way of breaking it down! 🎉❤ thank you
ОтветитьThis type of calligraphy you are demonstrating is called “Copperplate.” It was used in engraving on “copper plates” for printing purposes.
Calligraphy means “beautiful writing” in Greek. There are many hands in calligraphy: uncial, italic, black letter or Gothic, Roman, copperplate, and many more. Each hand has its own basic strokes.
To use the word calligraphy when demonstrating this specific hand makes me think, if I didn’t know, that this is the only type of calligraphy when really there are dozens (hundreds?) of hands.
In all fairness, this is the only one of your videos I’ve watched and you may demonstrate other hands in other videos. But just wanted to point out the detail missed in this one.
Copperplate is very difficult compared to other hands and not usually taught to a beginner. Brava if you can master it. (Speaking as a former calligraphy teacher for 25 years.)
Stoke of genius. Clear, clean, and decisive. Awesome
ОтветитьAmazingly simple and enlightening, thank you! ❤
ОтветитьI'd have an easier time if I were not left handed. I tend to drag the ink with my pinky... ugh. Great video. You make it look easy.
ОтветитьHeh you're intro music reminds me of a happier version of Succession's intro theme. Found you online cause I just got a brush pen and I wanted to learn how to write headers on my planner in a nicer way.
Ответить❌️❌️❌️ FINALLY.....No BULL SHIT & Straight to the POINT! So sick of seeing all these "JOURNALLING" People who think they are teaching "Calligraphy" but what they're actually teaching is "CURSIVE" or as they like to Brand it "MODERN CALLIGRAPHY"
📍Have some RESPECT for the ART FORM of CALLIGRAPHY, People!
Do you use flat nibs held at a 45 degree angle to do your lettering?
ОтветитьI’m happy I found this ,I’m trying to write cards and thought that calligraphy would be nice to add I’ve always wanted to learn it ,out of all the videos I’ve watched yours explained things the best thank you so much :)
