For Solution # 1 HIV testing, shouldn't that be guideline IC.1.a.2.h? IC.1.a.2.a is HIV-related conditions. IC.1.a.2.h is for HIV screening which is what the scenario specifically stated. Just to be sure, I did double check in the ICD-10-CM book and confirmed this on page 22.

I guess that's why I need another book. Because my book only have the option for J12.8 oneumonia. Due to SARS associated Coronavirus and J12. 89 other viral pneumonia so I actually chose b Because I don't have the other option in the tabular in my book.

Thank you for this course its been so helpful. I did want to ask about Z21 if you are asymptomatic doesnt that mean you've been diagnosed with HIV already? In what scenario would you code Z21 if you are not assuming the person has HIV? I hope this makes sense. Thanks!

In question 3, while did we choose B20 as the secondary diagnosis . I was thinking the answer would be "Z21 as the secondary diagnosis", because the patient was asymptotic at the time of discharge.

Question! For #2 for Severe sepsis. Wouldn't you code R65.20 second as severe sepsis and then L03.115 third as the associated organ dysfunction? Thanks!

My school doesnt send out hcpcs. I am doing medical coding. My instructor said that there are about 5-10 questions that will relate to hcpcs and you don't need the physical book. I do have the icd-10 and cpt books that were sent out.
