yep they no longer have this lift
ОтветитьNot sure if you ever need to move this thing in your shop or not but they do sell Wheeled Burke Bars that are simply a very heavy duty Long Pry Bar generally used to lift or shift very heavy machinery in place to shim them for level or move them in very small increments to place them Ina precise location You may be able to modify one to create a “Trailer” Ball or Stud to hook into that lifts hitch point that is welded on the end opposite side of the Wheels instead of that lift Pump as they say to do ? we all know HF has its downfalls on certain items but I agree with you for the Cost this one does appear to be worth the Hassles
ОтветитьThat’s what I did with mine it’s my welding table slash work bench.
ОтветитьEverything I have bought from HF has been junk and broke. Their jack stands were even collapsing a few years ago. My life and property is worth more than saving a few bucks. Good luck with your purchase.
Ответитьit good but cant do transmision remove or do clutch good for oil change brake shock brake tire rotate cross bar limited remove slide under chassis
ОтветитьFor now over $2000.00 I'll just use my floor jacks and concrete blocks. 🤣
ОтветитьSeems like the only viable use for this would be Wheel work, tires brakes wheel bearings tie rods ball joints CVshafts control arms struts etc. Maybe just maybe some rust proofing such as oil undercoating. But exhaust and major work like trannys out of the question. But could be useful to some degree. Just have to see it for what it is. Cheers
ОтветитьThat homemade cherry picker on the 3-point is awesome great idea!
ОтветитьHF choses to use recycled cardboard packaging. This wouldn't be a problem if the pa k aged used recycle hard that was recycled 5x or less. They use Chinese recycle board that has been recycled 10x or more. Part of the reason their tools are cheaper.
ОтветитьIf you want to move it much more easily you can weld a vertical tube near each corner to use large round-shank scaffolding casters. I put all sorts of heavy equipment on those temporarily and permanently (the only difference is leaving the scaffold casters installed). If you mostly use yours as a lift table you could leave them in place. I haven't modded mine because I scored it before I figured out adding casters is glorious (my air horizontal air comps, lath and mill are all mobilized similarly) but next time I move mine I'll pry and use cribbing (typical rigger style) then add weld on caster tubes and have at it. One stick of tubing makes many caster mounts and since the mounts are cheap but casters cost enough to matter you can set four aside for temporary movements.
ОтветитьThis same unit sold in Canda is 3400. nasty.
ОтветитьGood video. Would not buy this product. As seen this buyer, who documented previous buyers having the same problem, received parts that were damaged due to insufficient packing. Harbor Freight has enough influence to get the maker to correct this, and they did not, unacceptable. Also, subparts were not fully assembled, resulting in an unusable product. This item requires repair by the purchase to get it operating, not acceptable. For something that holds 3 tons over your body you want some conference that it will not collapse on you, poor quality does not provide that confidence. Instead save up a few more months and buy a better product.
ОтветитьFantastic review. I didn't even know HF offered a scissor lift. The lift worked great and lifted very high. I really appreciate how you are forthcoming about the problems and and fixes you encountered. Overall a great value. The clearance issues are a real problem for me. I don't think HF offers 25% percent coupons anymore
ОтветитьThe fact that you even own a town car answered all my questions!!!
ОтветитьExpansion and tires and wheels only
ОтветитьThat's a good for change in tires if you want to do all forward one time but it blocks too much stuff underneath the car no exhaust work blocks a little bit of transmission it's rear wheel drive.
ОтветитьI went to go look and they no longer sell it, says it has been discontinued
Ответитьcan you work under the lift and remove a car engine? from the underside like an rx350 if needed
ОтветитьNice find! I've always been a fan of blue 69's. Glad I found you and looking forward to upcoming content on it.
ОтветитьI heard you holding your breath while it was going up.
ОтветитьYou can keep it!
ОтветитьI have what appears to be a a similar lift I have had for 14 years at least. The lift works great and has saved me a lot of time. A beach chair on a furniture dolly allows me to slide under my car and work with ease. These lifts are sold by many different companies but are all the same. They come from I believe China, so it would be hard to blame Harbor Freight for bad packaging.
ОтветитьThe width of the base looks a little scary to me. Example if you had a small truck with unbalanced weight in the bed. You did a very good presentation for this unit.
Ответитьhow wide is this lift? is it 51 inches?
ОтветитьTUBAFOUR?
Ответитьfrightening mechanism
ОтветитьTypical crap from HF
ОтветитьIts a heavy item. It cant be packed into cardboard box and box survives it. But i think its ok to cack them like that cuz then shippers think.. oh no this might have a problem and they handle it with bit more care. It could be wry well packed in simple plastic foil
ОтветитьYou need a pinch bar, a block for a pivot, and some larger dowel stock. Lift the end, put a dowel under it, roll the package, rinse, repeat. Castors would work great, too. Strap the pallet and hook the strap to the truck to pull it down the length of the trailer it's in, and then maneuver it to the bed of your truck. I would even try two boards connected at the top and straddle the pallet with a strap hanging down fro the peak of the 2 boards. Fasten the strap to the pallet, and use the two board like a lift system to scootch the pallet forward. I can think of a bunch of ways to move that pallet without using too much muscle.
Ответитьi have two words BEND PAK
Ответитьif that is the reputation that harbour freight wan't
ОтветитьAnything you buy from harbor freight is old garbage everything they carry over there the prices might be cheap but the crappy products that they sell you our company buys from them and we constantly have to return all types of tools gadgets and never shop on there that's all made in China crap the quality is bad never trust them.
ОтветитьDid HF drop this product line? I do not see it offered (2023/09/23).
ОтветитьI wouldn’t be caught D using this lift even with your car! 😂
ОтветитьI would have liked to see him shake the car and see how long it took to fall over
ОтветитьThe things you buy from harbor freight come from china, the box is beat up because they karate kick the boxes from china to the America😂
ОтветитьWhy did HF stop making this jack?
Ответитьhow much????
ОтветитьMine had no problems no rust, I wish they still sold them
ОтветитьYou say lathe . I say grinder . Potato Potatoe
ОтветитьDoesn't the actual lift assembly as a whole just get in the way when you need to repair something under there? Once it's up you cant move it out of the way to get to that thing you want to remove or fix.
ОтветитьGOT MINE FROM GREG SMITH EQ,10YRs AGO NO Problems, NOT CHINA JUNK.DOEs ALL BUT STILL HAVE TO DROP TRANNYs FROM JACK STANDs.
ОтветитьProbably didn't get wet - salty sea air will rust metal very quickly.
ОтветитьTo move it around, get a set of four car dollies. I have a set from HFT and can move a 3/4 ton truck with mostly ease unless your driveway or garage is cracked. This wouldn't work for me as the only reason for lifting a car would be to have access to under it.
ОтветитьIt's amazing what you learn how to do when you have to do most things by yourself. That thing looks like a nightmare to have to move.
ОтветитьI like how you didn't mind having to mess with it to get it working right.
Since most people would return it if there is even a sticker missing or something silly like that.
Don't the braces make it very difficult to get underneath the car to work on it, especially in certain locations?
ОтветитьI don't think you'll find me under a car with me under it, Probably a bad way to die.
Ответить
