Thank you,Buzz, for another great video.
ОтветитьSeeing the breakdowns and actual numbers is so very helpful as I am trying to plan for retirement soon. Thank you very much!
ОтветитьTracking expenses is key to getting the most out of retirement 😊
ОтветитьYes what about Netflix is $16 a month and I got the Roku thing at Walmart. I get all the channels you can get whatever you want. I have ABC and NBC and CNN there’s a home and garden channel they have Disney I’ve been watching that lately, they have a crime show on there I like cause the lady always figures it out she gets all the credit and my phone is $60 a month it’s through Verizon unlimited. I’m on a family plan with my granddaughter and her husband. Hope that cable works out for you. Looks a little expensive love from South Dakota. It’s finally 61° here
ОтветитьLove these updates!!
ОтветитьYou could save a little more by not buying that weird squid food! 😉
ОтветитьNice update!
ОтветитьI figured I'd share in the flack wirh you for spending what we do on food/household items. Feeding and clothing 6 people isn't cheap
ОтветитьLove the updates. Keep up the positive view point. Marc C. out.
ОтветитьBeen with Mint Mobile for many moons now....mostly satisfied with the domestic service but just beware that if you travel outside of the Divided States of A that's when they really stick it to you. For example, I visited Panama in 2022 and it cost me roughly $10/day for the coverage.
ОтветитьThanks, I really like the simplistic breakdown of a real life situation
ОтветитьDo you travel?
ОтветитьGreat job Buzz. Yup those groceries and cable hmmm
ОтветитьBuzz, it looks like you got a good grip on your spending, well done. I think it's a great that you have a life insurance policy on you both. I also have one on me and my wife, more importantly on me so my wife is taken care of.
ОтветитьHey Buzz how do you like the T-Mobile internet?
ОтветитьJust an FYI. For my 2025 budget I am planning to win at least 6 free AMAZON gift certificates from Buzz. Also, maybe we should open a buy here - pay here egg franchise.
ОтветитьHey there BUZZ... catching up on your vids this Friday eve, Just paid the family 6-month car insurance...BIG INCREASE... (the wife did have a fender bender recently though,,,, so there is that). Enjoyed the video - keep them coming... 😄
ОтветитьI think you did real well on your budgeting. It is less than 100 $ a month. Congratulations!
ОтветитьI just realized ( after a year) that you have no line item for income taxes.
ОтветитьThanks Buzz for the great video. You are at your best health in early retirement and should take trips, vacations when you are physically able. I’m 75 and husband is 77 and we don’t go as much, eat out little, and still there are falls, difficulty sleeping, poor eyesight that are happening so enjoy more now. There will come a time when more things need replacing and you should have a plan.
Best wishes on the continued experiment
Thank you for another update. Travel sounds good. Im not a fan of leaving the country though.
ОтветитьGreat job Buzz! Just so you know I'm not perfect...I was late paying our property taxes for the quarter and got a $15 surcharge for that. BTW our property taxes are $9K/yr for a 50/100 ft lot with 3 bed 1 bath house. We still have cable as hubby has to have his sports. We get internet included. We both have Mint mobile and pay $30/month for both of us and we pay once a year. We've prepaid our cremations so our kids don't have to worry about that. Rarely go out to restaurants as hubby has become an excellent cook in his retirement. We use powdered dish washer and clothes detergent to control how much we use. Finally, I had a tooth pulled and will spend $2500 for an implant. It's a molar and I need it. Broke the dang tooth. Keep on truckin' Buzz.
ОтветитьHi Buzz
Ignore people giving you grief about " having Life insurance for your spouse"" i have 2 whole Life policy one for me and for my spouse.. God forbit '' we are both cover for $150k .. plus with paying
the premium for the past 30 years"" the CASH value is now $110k we can draw form it increase of a emergency...!!
How do you get homeowners insurance so cheap? What kind of coverage do you have?
ОтветитьBills,bills,bills: the joys of retirement.
ОтветитьGood video Buzz, looks like you’re doing great on your experiment!
Ответить26k people behind you hoping you can make this work!
ОтветитьI’m not doing the gizmo in my car……I have enough people tracking me. My buddy got it and his insurance went up. ❤️🌵
Ответить$150.00 a month for Cox is not bad. ❤️🌵
Ответитьsell the books and ditch the cable :)
ОтветитьThank you for the update this month! Doing mine as well and we are doing good now> We had some extra stuff going on as well! Propane, Son-n love golf game and purchase the paint for the house about to do this week! Saving a lot on doing my on labor around the house! A s always keep them coming!!
ОтветитьAnother great video. Love what you say about your life insurance. The arithmetic of retirement is important, but passing the pillow test is priceless.
ОтветитьI also started Medicare this year, so nice to get off the ACA. It served its purpose, but I will not miss the yearly paperwork. 😊
ОтветитьI kind of like the spinoff. Buzz's Retirement Library. It's got a nice ring to it. Like the life insurance, the lottery cards were also a fan favorite. 😊 Nice job on the win.
ОтветитьYou know, you can save quite a bit of money if you don't finance your homeowners and auto insurance monthly.
Ответить$900 is not bad at all! Your property taxes are so low.
ОтветитьBuddy buddy... U live to close at the edge. Go get a job while ur able to work. At 85-90 years live like u r now
ОтветитьI don’t where other people live who think your grocery bill is high, but I’m in the southeast and think it’s normal
ОтветитьHey Buzz. I was wondering if you could give me an idea about your homeowners insurance and car insurance. I see from your chart that your monthly payments are very reasonable. I have my 2 cars' insurance packaged with my homeowners insurance. My monthly premium went from $436 to $591 since last fall. In 2022, my monthly payment for the combined was only $327. I have a very modest ranch home (<1200 sq feet) and my cars are both 2012 models. Do you have any advice on how I can lower my insurance premiums? I think I need to switch companies. These costs are for the birds. Thanks, Buzz!
ОтветитьI’ve mentioned this before, but I think it’s a cool experiment to try living off SS alone. I’m 58, she’s 57, so it’ll be a few years. I need to learn more about the ACA. I worry about healthcare. We haven’t decided a retirement date
ОтветитьI'm going to live in a van ... maybe down by the river.
ОтветитьThis is awesome! I wish my parents do this. I am learning for myself. 💜💜💜💜💜
Ответить$333 😄😄😄💜💜💜💜💜
ОтветитьI also use OOMA because of it's low cost and ability to block callers. I think it's about $18/mo when you count the $120 yearly package that allows me to block entire area codes. It also gives me a second phone number. I switched from Verizon in 2021 when it was almost $50/mo with fewer features.
ОтветитьGreat video. Thanks for sharing so much detail. People under-estimate the value of cable TV. They package a large set of channels together and deliver it with a pretty user-friendly interface. You can stream cheaper, but you take over figuring out what's available where, and you have an arguably more complicated user interface. I'm a streamer now, but when I try to get Netflix to stream something 2 or 3 times, then have to reboot my Roku box before I can get it show me a little entertainment, I sometimes wish I had the old setup.
ОтветитьWe are living on a lot less, but we cook and rarely ever eat out. We have property tax deferral program, which can be good or bad depending. Not sure if we'll leverage it, unless we need to do so.
