If you want GNOME why don't you just install Ubuntu LTS (that's what Mint is based on)?
It comes with GNOME by default and its already set up so you would have a much better experience.

And that's why the linux XP is not for everyone. MacOS is for babies and grandmoms, but at least it works. Windows is the same animal but a different beast. And linux is for passionate nerds willing to feel like they are 'hacking' NASA, while trying to get the OS working for 7 straight mins without losing their heads, xd.

Arch Linux is simply brilliant. I use RichARCH btw. With it I was able to get Arch Linux up and running simply and quickly. It also includes kickstart like automation features.

There is one more that you should probably try called cosmic but it's still in alpha. Its being made for pop os which used to use gnome but due to its limitations and problems System 76 the developers of popos decided to make their own desktop environment and have been working on it for a while now and it is currently i think in its late stages of alpha (alpha 7)

Just an observation, your video thumbnail is very over-sharpened. It looks horrible and has excessive ringing, my subjective opinion would be you should really be dialing it down in Photoshop/editing suite. If the intention was for a crisper image on mobile 6inch displays, i dont think it works. The beak and hands look off and uncanny

its so painful to watch this youre using kernel 6.8 when the current is 6.14 and gnome 42 when the current is 48 very painful to watch but linux mint is the one to blame which is why i don't actually like it

As you have a long experience on macos, and now you've tasted linux and hyprland, you should absolutely try Aerospace on macos (i3 / hyprland like experience on macos) - i'm pretty sure you'll love it, even though it does have some limitations.
