I anyone is to blame for all this it's the parents yes The Menendez brothers are the ones who pull the trigger, but none of this would have happened if they didn't treated their sons badly, so the parents paid the ultimate price.

Okay... I feel like some of you are trying to ragebait, or genuinely don't know why the killings occurred.

Basically the father, Jose Menendez would sexually abuse Lyle Menendez (The older brother AKA the one in the white shirt.) Eventually, Lyle would tell him to stop. Jose did stop but later proceeded to sexually abuse the younger brother, Erik Menendez (The one in the blue shirt.) The mother, Kitty Menendez knew about this but didn't do anything to help the boys. If anything, she hated the boys and wanted Jose to abuse them. She would also abuse them but not as much as their father. The father would basically fondle them and make them... Do stuff with their mouths... I can see why they killed them both, and I personally believe this was an act of self defense. Also, I feel this scene is graphic to show the amount of hatred they had for their parents because of what the parents did to them both. I'm not saying you're an idiot for believing they shouldn't be released. I'm just stating what happened according to documentaries, trials, evidence, and more. the parents were REALLY AWAKE AND STANDING UP, contrary to the misinformation spreading around this comment section. during the first trial, the da's coroner, forensic experts, and blood splatter expert testified that josé was awake AND standing up based on the gunshot wounds, blood splatter, the bruising on his head (which confirmed that the headshot was the LAST shot to be administered), and the position of his legs. the news reports/articles about them being asleep is based on a myth created by the prosecutors to depict the parents as helpless and that the brothers planned it. it has been debunked since day 1.

Why tf are we as a society so obsessed with violence, placing cowards on pedestals and idolizing murderers.
This kind of violence is different it's not fiction. Regardless of the details, it hits different when you are seeing a depiction so violent of someone REAL who was murdered, rather than a fictional character.
People's interests have gone from learning details and facts about these cases to glorifying depictions of the slain and painting evil as the victim.
