Watch_Dogs is my 5th favorite game but yeah that downgrade was unforgivable. I wish they'd remaster it to make it like the trailer.

I had to read the description to find out the order of the clips, because upon seeing No Texture Vaas, I thought that was the downgraded footage, and Detailed Vaas was E3.

Looking at The Division's trailer now, after 10 years, it appears to have path tracing applied. While the gameplay footage seems authentic, ray tracing technology at that time was such a high-end technique that it was only suitable for CG videos, so I suspect it was ultimately removed from the release version. Even Ubisoft has only been able to implement ray tracing global illumination in Assassin's Creed Shadows at the current point in time, 10 years later.

A lot can't be fixed, but a lot can with a simple tweak to contrast.

Dunno why games in the end are so afraid of darkness in the picture, upping gamma/brightness so everything looks greyish instead

in my opinion theese downgrades are made mainly by consoles, and as they are multiplatform titles pc's was forced for that too

Far Cry 3 looks better now

I don't even know who buys ubisoft games, pretty much all of them are trash. The new skull and bones game is just the final nail in the coffin.

To be fair, in the release footage of far cry 4 there's used volumetric fog option that make the visuals too dark and dull (it looks like this feature is bugged). And if you turn it off, the game looks amazing and nearly as E3 showcase

Nah, Far Cry 4’s final graphics looks great unlike most of the others on this list where its downgrade looks noticeable

I remember when this happened and after watchdogs I stopped buying Ubisoft titles. Never gone back and it's been nice!
