Hans Zimmer is a Legend, because he is still the kid who just wants to make great music, great sounds, great experiences. He acquired all of his skill and knowledge, because of this genuine love and curiosity. He didn't learn music, he longed for it, eats and breathes it. I admire not the man, but the aura, the attitude, the love and the excitement you can see when Hans talks about music.

Watching the show is an education. I find Jethro Tull conspicuously missing though « skating away on the thin eyes of a new day… »

OMG! What an amazingly entertaining, emotional, insightful interview. If you would have told me that I would sit and watch a one hour and forty minute interview - TWICE! - I would have said "no way!" But that's what I just did.

@rickbeato of all your great interviews, this is your best! Thank you. 🙏

Thin Red Line is what got me into Hans' music. Until then, I'd never really gotten into considering how much the movie score matters until watching that on my first cheap home theater setup. That's really cool to hear him say that's the work that he thought aligned the best. Great interview, so glad you guys got the opportunity to chat.

We saw Hans Zimmer last summer in Toronto and there were over 50 musicians on the stage. The amazing thing was he had this way of making the arena feel like a living room. He would talk between songs and it was so intimate. Fantastic

Orchestral music was going out of fashion in the 80s? What about E.T., jaws and Star wars. The amount of nonsense this phoney composer guy can spew is unlimited. Not to mention most of his film scores are writen by minions who get paid next to nothing.

I have to admit when I first read the title/description I was thinking how dry and uninspiring this would be. Boy was I wrong. Being able to hear the genius and creativity and how Hans brings it all together with it all focused on how the music blends with the visual to create a complete moment. Truly inspiring!!! If musicians could take away one thing here, is that no mater what you are playing or where and to whom ever, make sure to have it be genuine and with feeling from the soul. And that goes for cover bands too. Make it yours.

I love that he went "I started to subtract stuff out of my life, 90% of what I do I only use one software synth" while the entire walls are made out of expensive hardware tech everywhere you look. I like Hans already, just a few minutes in.

Man, I am just 6 minutes in and am loving this interview. Hans Zimmer has always been an amazing composer. When people ask that question, "if there was ever a person that you would could meet and hang out with, who would it be"? I would choose Hans Zimmer. I'm 50 yo, been playing keyboard off an on since I was 14, when I came to the States from Germany. I don't read music well at all, but I can play a few Mozart and Bach pieces here and there. I recently just got the keyboard of my dreams, a Roland Fantom 8 (upgraded to an EX), and am just getting now getting into tone design and music arranging and it's honestly overwhelming. When I get frustrated, or just don't get something... I reach out for some Hans ZImmer pieces and just listen... I mean... really listen to understand... and relax. Thank you Rick for this amazing interview... going to go back to listening and watching this great interview.
