My only gripe w the ads r that my xbox will ask me if I'm still watching when I let the ads play thru. It's irritating because then I hafta turn on the controller n hit the button coz it'll pause the video until I do so. FYI, chickens love "chick weed". any time i have some growing, and its really fresh green and wet, i pull it up and throw it to the chickens, THEY LOVE IT.

I have been making syrup for 3 seasons now and used about 20 Concrete blocks full of sand and a few Steam table pans. 3 Season of raging fires and a few block are just starting to crack.

This is Rob Robinson that asked about fire bricking the cinder block evaporator. We started with a concrete block maple sap evaporator a couple of years ago In South Boardman Mi. There are some left over parts from it in our barn that we could send your way. They are totally free from our family to yours. Specifically an angle iron grate ( evaporator will run hotter ), 10" stainless stack base, 3/8 plate steel cutout for the ss base that sits on block, and a length of ss stack from Sugar Bush in Mason. One year used. I am a big fan of your work and am happy to drop it off someplace with out putting you on the spot. That is after Gretchen lifts the travel restriction. Please let me know if interested, Pictures available on request. It would be cool to click on a video next year and see some leftover parts in action....

Regarding the evaporator flack: Jess from Roots and Refuge always says "don't let best discourage you from good enough" (or something like that) and I think that's such a healthy attitude! You can still do good and beneficial things even if you can't or don't choose to do them the best way.
