Michael Caine is a real gentleman ❤
ОтветитьMy cousin was from Bradford, born to a family of coal miners, and sent away to a Posh boarding school in London so she could learn to speak without a Cockney accent so she would not be discriminated against based on class.
ОтветитьRoyalty is fascism
We are all born equal.
The crazy part is the British accent is actually made up. The elite create a new accent to distinguish themselves from the cockney. Over the time, the elite couldn’t do anything about it it because the people the caught the wind of it and the accent. Everyone wants to be elite or pass off as one. That’s how whole England got the accent, but not the whole UK. The Scots and the Yankees from 1600s probably are more close to the original English accent.
ОтветитьIts not difficult at all You insint in supporting a monarcha and an aristocracy, which own 38% of your country?.
ОтветитьEngland is a culturevof racism
Ответить❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьBoo freaking hooo
ОтветитьA whole new level of respect for Michael Caine. Brilliant. And good.
ОтветитьSpeaks better?
Ответить❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьAmazing man ❤❤❤👍
ОтветитьMiss Congeniality really got to him
Ответить1st film role playing a posh British officer in Zulu 😂
ОтветитьIn the US, it used to be that education helped dictate class. The more educated you were, the more likelihood you were held in higher regard. Now, "education" means much less, as ppl are learning much less in universities. Education does not always result in more money, now days, either.
ОтветитьAs a little girl growing up in working class Liverpool I remember telling my mum that I would never ever curtsy to any member of the royal family “What makes them better than us?” I would ask. Now I don’t know in what world I imagined I would ever meet any one of them. 🙂. My parents immigrated to Canada when I was a young teenager. Best thing they ever did for us.
ОтветитьMy mom use to say. Hey, can you ask the American this and that. I would say we are American! Her so s were born here. My parents became legal American citizens. I feel this soooo much. It has brought tears to my eyes.
Ответить“You are a real lady..” 🥹 I love him
ОтветитьInteresting that this still exists. Here in the states vulgarity can pop up across all class lines. Recalling the vulgar statement by Hillary Clinton on the “Deplorables” and her and Bills looting of Haiti, her destruction of Libya& support of Genocide— not lady like at all! Give me cockney any day and of course Ireland!
ОтветитьThat's the reason Punk was born in the UK. Nowhere else could class distinctions be so ingrained that ppl don't even notice they exist.
ОтветитьRévolutionnaire...
ОтветитьBritish "vulgarity" would be absolutely hilarious if you heard a child saying it.
"Oh bloody bother the postman must be taking piss with me, look at me letters all jumbled up me mum gonna think me stupid she is. Teacher's a right cunt."
Damn shame that the cockney are endangered now
ОтветитьNever judge a book by its cover. Proud londer here ❤
ОтветитьFunny how many ppl in America can champion what Michael Caine is saying, and yet co-sign that same foolishness here in the States.
ОтветитьI can see why people like this sentiment, but it's in part how we ended up where we are today...
ОтветитьA real gentleman! 👍👍👍
Ответить💙💯
ОтветитьSame in France.
ОтветитьOne of life's most difficult, yet most rewarding achievements...the only real freedom is genuinely being who you really are.
ОтветитьSMART' N BELOVED!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьHe was a fantastic actor
ОтветитьWhat Michael is really trying to say and you can see it when he talks about his female relative being a lady also, is that his class is really high class & the high class is extraordinarily low class
ОтветитьSuch a shame that England is now a tyranny in 2025...
No free speech
I love Michael Caine.
ОтветитьHe is MOST DEFINITELY a true gentleman. What a kind, wise soul.
It's so good to see people with this kind of moral values and so compassionate, already knowing people already are enough and worthy the way they are, especially at the time where the distinction and prejudice was even stronger than nowadays.
His whole life he was obsessed with his roots. I wouldn't give a bollux myself
ОтветитьI’ve been watching a few highbrow accents and I love his accent
ОтветитьWe don't have any strong working class actors anymore!
ОтветитьCaste system in England.
ОтветитьYou are what you is,and you is what you are !
Best quote ive ever been told..
Mr. Caine you are not fake. The rest of those upper class people are fake and insecure. Pretenders.
ОтветитьThis gentleman is a national treasure on both sides of the pond...and it's about the same here in the states...like if you took a Appalachian hillbilly and planted them in a situation in Manhattan and 5 th avenue..from what I gather.. I'm from the south and my part of the south was actually settled by cockneys and welsh and irish folk..and we have other cultures making up the beautiful tapestry of humanity in my state..but a good portion of my moms family on her dads end came from the regions i mentioned..my biological fathers irish and native American..thats neither here or there but simply for context.. and even after 100+years in the state our part of Texas surprises folks especially from the uk who visit..how much we sound like them maby not as much inflected like Mr.cain but its noticable and it kinda surprised the uk foreign exchange students..till they learned about who settled our region and founded the town..we might be a ocean apart but still family regardless of the attitudes from some..lol...
I grew up with great depression poverty in the 80s and 90s and my mom and dad ..
always told me your just as good as anyone else but still no better and don't look down on anyone if you don't want mistreatment then don't give it either.. fear God first me second..my mom told me if she ever caught me looking down on anyone which I try to never anyway but..
Mom was always stressing..good manners & education even if its only making it to grade 12 and personal dignity as far as well kept..and a clean house she used to say we might be poor but we're not going to be filthy or ignorant either..my step dad who is my dad..always told me no job is lousy if its honest and keeps a roof over you and food in the cupboard and he took any thing he was qualified for if it meant food for me and ma...im proud of my blue collar roots and im proud of my cockney and welsh and irish roots just like im proud of my native American roots...however my identity is in Christ and not my culture...but I can totally relate to mr.cains story and I understand..
and God bless him
and if I didn't like him already i have more respect for him now..never met him but he seems like such an egalitarian and gem😊
I grew up in the south east US being told "dont talk like a country person." As an adult I dont mask my dialect anymore. If some fool thinks they are better than someone because of how they speak, I do not care about their opinon at all.
ОтветитьI like you Michael Caine!
ОтветитьMy British working-class grandmother would give anyone who called her a lady a lecture about the class system (including her 5 year old grandchildren)
ОтветитьBut ladies are not working class or even middle class women, they’re privileged and often very wealthy. Please, no kings or queens, dukes or duchesses, lords or ladies. And please don’t ask a working class woman to act like a lady. She’s better than a lady! Thank you!
ОтветитьMeanwhile, Americans only see Brits as Brits. The people who call us whenever the Germans whoop their asses.
ОтветитьIn America we think people who speak with a Southern dialect are stupid, and people who speak AAVE are criminals
ОтветитьI've been working and living throughout Europe and in US. The only country I've experienced massive discrimination was in the UK. Horrible place full of tossers. I feel terribly bad for the few good people living there.
