The sequels are apocryphal. They dont need any lore explanation, because they spit in the face of Star Wars lore.

... having death star 3.0 shotgun a solar system from millions of light years away with pinpoint accuracy was idiotic.
... having women in charge park all military vessels in dry-dock for inspection.... a bit more plausible...
.... if the galaxy wasnt composed of thousands of populated solar systems

For the record: the British Empire’s history is far more nuanced than you suggest. They actually did a lot of good things too. Check out the practice of sati (widow burning) in India for an example. They are also where the concept of America got its ideas from in terms of freedom, small government (Britain ruled the entirety of Sudan with just 140 officials for example), rule of law, strong civil service etc. These ideals also transferred to the places we colonised and many of them have benefitted greatly from that effect. Compare India to the rest of the region, Nigeria to its neighbours in Africa and so on.

No one is saying that imperialism is a good thing, but to suggest it only did bad things is to take a very biased and one sided approach.

With all due respect, you’re delusional if you think North Korea has a formidable military that even comes close to South Koreas. Fighting North Korea would be like fighting your friend in Sid Meiers Civilization who spent all his time building cheap military units and no time on increasing his science yields lol those guys would get obliterated. If it weren’t for China backing them, they would’ve already.

The First Order should have been a smaller confederation of Imperial Factions like what we saw in Mandalorian. The FO came back even stronger and bigger than the Empire with its economic size. A good example of how this should be done is in Gundam Z and ZZ. The Axis/Zeon Remnants should be what the FO should rightfully be.

Most people don't think of scale. Europe has a lot of documented history, but what we have found (more or less) is that a lot of the records of bad things Europe did. Happened else where. Africa, Middle east, Asia, Australia (don't bet against the native Aussies, never works out), the Americas. Was it exactly the same. No. But it was close enough. Humanity is terrible, As far as power grabs and war. The first order, might be slightly less believable, but is not out of line from what history has taught us.
The biggest ships impossible, maybe, but I would bet it's not that impossible, even if there was not imagination that went into the building of their army. Given enough drive, I don't doubt they couldn't have build something from what they had. And they did have drive.

I'm sorry but I unabashedly love the sequels and I think in time history will look back at them favorably. Of course they had their flaws but needn't I remind anyone that the original and especially the prequel trilogy also had a few flaws as well, as heretical and blasphemous as that sounds... A ton of people back in the day were SUPER disappointed with the ending of Return of the Jedi and ewoks basically being teddy bears which were able to destroy the remainder of the 501st legion on Endor. Sadly the sequel trilogy came out during an increasingly divisive political landscape and if you think all these anti-DEI crusaders we have now did not play a role in the explosive and fiery critiques of these movies you are WRONG.

The descriptions of real world politics seemed underinformed. It is now agreed by most historians that nomadic empires did have science, art, and culture just like agrarian ones did, and many of the empires that you mentioned (both nomadic and not), though they would be considered authoritarian today (due to a lack of democracy), were considered just at the time

I really wanted the first order to be winning on the first and second movie, it would make things a lot more violent, let us feel the emotions more and is something different compared to the other trilogy. Otherwise this would’ve been a very good trilogy if it was like that. Instead we have this choreography that is ball crap

Nothing about the New Disney Star Wars Franchise makes sense and I mean nothing. The reason is simple, Disney went Woke and adopted Black Rock and Vanguard ESGs which mandate that the protagonist must be a female and the remaining cast most be composed of minorities and members of the LGBTQ community. Furthermore these protected groups must be overpowered and any supporting white male characters must be an emasculated and weak so the forced message of female empowerment gets hammered into the brain of the viewer. Along with messages that minorities are better than the majority and you must love and approve of alternative lifestyles. Furthermore there must be sufficient political messaging to convey the new Woke norms. Disney's preoccupation with ESG and DEI leaves no room for character development, world building or plot. So that's why you get stuff that makes no sense in terms of world building because in the absence of a meaningful plot the Woke writers merely recycle elements of previous films and to differentiate them they simply make them bigger, more powerful and more ridiculous. That's why we have a Super Ultra Mega Death Star and have a Star Ship that's so freaken big it shatters any attempt at suspended disbelief. The fact is if your looking for meaning or explanation as to why the First Order came to be or why star destroyers morphed into planet ships the size of continents don't bother. These things are merely window dressing since the main thrust of these films and tv shows is to check ESG and DEI boxes and push a Woke Message, EVERYTHING ELSE is just there to be eye candy and isn't worth thinking about for more than 1 second since it's all just made up to advance the Woke Story and Woke characters no one cares about!

None of the new movies really made sense or had exposition or reasons for why things exist as they do. It was a 'girl power' cry fest. Ray was a transparent 'women can do anything' OP character with no explaination as to why she is the most powerful force user in history. And the villians were designed to be pathetic and not scary.
