respeccing should be free, vendors should have somewhat lower prices (atleast the gamble), more craft currency should drop. its ridicilous and boring.
doesnt matter if poe veteran or not, it adds variety and fun to try out new things in the talenttree, sometimes you dont even know how a few FIREnodes affect your firebuild vs spell damage or something... respeccing limits stuff like this.

I really think they should allow free respecs right now. Also Diablo 3 they nerfed the monk when we were 3/4 through the season. Because they said the clear times were too fast. Then they buffed the Barbarian which gave him faster clear times than the monk and said these buff were as intended.

With it being Early Access and access to that early access actually not being free of charge, any balance patches/tweaks that do take place should, actually, be accompanied by passive resets. Because, well, the only alternative people have right now, which seems a bit excessive but it is the sole alternative given the excessive respec costs... is to simply restart the character.
That is the more time efficient approach actually. Since grinding the gold to fix the broken character would take longer to accomplish. Given the character is now broken and therefore will not generate as much gold as it could've before the nerf(s).
So... it's just a bad call by GGG not to include free passive resets whenever they completely change mechanics/skills.

It's great how GGG before launch was like "We can't wait to see what other builds our players come up with". What they should have said is "We can't wait to see what our players find and then nerf it until all the fun is ruined"

respec should be extremely cheap while in alpha, but also its normal alpha will be changed quite a lot

I just rage quit because I cleared the bone area where you collect the mastodon tusks in act 2 and before going to fight the boss I decided to portal to clear my inventory and go use the restroom and smoke a cig. I got back, portal was gone, and map was unrevealed. What a waste of time. I won't be coming back until they remove the 10 min timer that wipes my progress. That is absolute trash.

I just dropped it for a while since I failed to many times, 6 hours on the count with my warrior and I have no money for respec lvl 18 character. I might pick it up again next year and try another class

Just get rid of the respec costs for early access and put them back in (preferably not) on full release after the game is in a relatively balanced state. Simple.

Anyone playing an early access game expecting no major changes is pretty daft.

The point of all the passive skills you can pick from is that you don't have to watch guides to make "the best" build but have fun experimenting, but i guess they don't want people to experiment with all the builds... if I had to make new character because of poor passive choices i would just quit the game just because of the respec cost, that is so stupid how much it costs for something that should be most fun in the game.

They have really done number on this game really. I like PoE movements and just overalll being smoother.

I don´t get why resetting your passive skill tree costs something in 2024. It is just beyond me how this is good for any game. Just let us switch around as we please. The game will most likely not die when your players have a bit more freedom to explore the skill tree.

Best beta, I’ve ever played. Good thing nothing is definitive during this time, so these are expected fixes and tweaks, to see a balance for hardcore tryhards, casual gamers to moderate gamers. Overall to get feedback from honest community of gamers and improve quality of life for a game who’s quality of life is still going in PoE1 even. Oh I'm def arguing for the game to be made WAAAAAY easier.

I'm level 80 and I refuse to play this game anymore. Although it is amazing and I love the difficulty, being punished for one death and taking away hours upon hours of progress, not to mention all the experience you got while simultaneously grinding low-level maps for higher level Maps where you can certainly still die, is just a game design I can't stand by. Until that gets changed POV 2 will stay uninstalled. I am sure I am not the minority here.

Respecs should always be free there’s no reason not to be free. It’s a game of large build diversity meaning we should be able to experiment as we wish. It hurts the game in the long run with these insane gold prices.

i pushed breach 20 mobs around,died in 1 second, logged out .And anyway Cold sorc is superboring and slow ....have no intension to make new char, campaign make me mad and it's supersuperlong.

Respec cost a lot it should be 250 gold per point or 100 gold and there shouldn’t be an increase cost in respec. Something very cheap and should stay as a flat price no increases 100

He 100% does NOT have a point, it's EA and nothing is balanced as it should be. Sure, it would be nice to have it cheap so we could easily tinker around, but it's EA, you signed on to have your builds completely borked at anytime because any and everything. Things like this are the typical of EA games while they are reworking to get the balance where they want it, Im not mad at them for that.

The things that need to be focused on are things like the forced ascendency trails with the terrible honor system or literally impossible trials. Hiding player power behind stupid walls is NEVER good. Those are systemic issues that need to be addressed hard and fast.

And yes, people ARE wanting it to be easier. Though right now I think it's the wrong kinds of difficult, we cant get gear for one. I've had to super grind until I get the gear that had the resists I needed for a specific boss, which was several HOURS of my time. The other thing is bosses feel terrible, their mechanics are unclear at best, and ALL of them have super zone sized attacks or denials that they just spam every few seconds. That is the wrong kind of hard. In the end Im sure it will be addressed but some things are like they never even playtested them.

Guys, you paid $30 to play during an early access period, essentially becoming open beta testers. Why are you crying about testing a broken version of a game that is going to be changed to meet GGG's expectations for full launch?

However, I do agree that if beta testers are testing builds then respec's should not be so expensive. The beta testers can't give you good end game data if they have to spend time grinding for gold to get their character back on track. You making their job harder will not make them want to test harder for you, not even if they paid to get the job.

I'd like to think I'm pretty good at ARPGs. However I've been needing to farm like crazy and get diminished returns from farming. Been stuck on the Act 2 boss now for 4 days. Warrior Class is just fakin' hard AF. The fights are SO long and you die at the last minute is just frustrating AF. Not fun at all.

POE2 has to watch out. Starting to look and sound like D4.
