Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I love the way you get to the heart of the content. No frills or big blah blah.
I like that.
AWESOME VIDEO! THANK YOU!
ОтветитьI agree re need for editor - because my first book has a few that that I kept missing. I’m going through now to fix what I can.
ОтветитьThank you - i will look more into A+ content. I ordered the books so that I can provide videos about them.
ОтветитьWhen do you check the box that says this is a public domain work as opposed to owning the copyright?
ОтветитьThis was a great video! I have been trying to upload my children's picture book on the paperback format on KDP, but it keeps telling me it wants 70+pages. If you have any ideas on how to get past that, I would be so appreciative. :)
ОтветитьI am thus far unpublished, have a children's book written, edited, doing the illustrations for it and would like to have a big league publisher, but would it be advantageous to just self-publish? And could it later be taken by a publisher?
ОтветитьThank you Caroline for such awesome content! Your directions are straightforward without a lot of fluff. I’ve been planning a book for a few months and your video is the push I needed to get it published! ❤️
ОтветитьHi Caroline I really enjoy all your videos and I'm learning so much! I have a question, I just started on canva and book Bolt to begin my journey, however whenever I am on canva there is no download key and therefore I'm not able to download what I create on PDF file , do you have any suggestions- I had my computer and internet service checked and that's all good . I'm just so disappointed! Any advice or suggestions you could give his greatly appreciated!
ОтветитьI just published my first one a few days ago. It’s a 3 month planning journal I used to lose 20kg. It took many tries to get it right but I finally did. Thanks for sharing this amazing video
ОтветитьI've done it...in 2013. My challenge now is publishing book #2. Thanks for creating this content.
ОтветитьI am working with an editor on one of my fiction standalone stories, hope to publish it this year :) and I am working on coloring books on the side., about done with my fifth one. Good luck to everyone!
Ответитьthank uu soo much
ОтветитьI've created so many low content books and I luv it. but the only problem I'm having is making it a spiral notebook. every time I try the spiral notebook template, and after it generates, it cuts the cover in half and I have to customize the size which is no longer a spiral. How do I make my notebooks into spiral?? THANKS
ОтветитьYou are a really wonderful person and a big inspiration! ❤
ОтветитьOne small point . . . if you write poetry, then Grammarly may not be effective if you play around with word order or if you don't always use capitals or 'traditional' punctuation (think e.e.cummins). Poetry often steps away from the rules associated with prose.
Caroline also makes a very interesting point about selling on Amazon in America. I'd like to hope that her points may not be quite so applicable to poets where grammar/format/style etc. offer more freedom for indivividuality . . . although her reference to spelling is probably still relevant.
Caroline is quite right about the advisability of proof-checking by using both screen and paper versions. It's much easier to notate a paper printout whereas if you change something 'on screen' you can quite easily find it hard to go back and remind yourself of any specific change(s) you made.
My personal tip -- every time you save your document, add a suffix to keep track of versions and changes. (mydoc 01 - mydoc 02 - mydoc 03 etc).
As for cover design . . . I have enough skill and a good awareness of design to feel confident doing this. However - be VERY careful if you use clipart or other images on the internet. Beware of phrases such as 'royalty free'. It is easy to find websites where, for a small fee, you can legally download and use images (it's polite to credit sources in your intro/outro or blurb). However, there are also a few sites that offer genuine free, public-domain images. Just be sure to check first and be certain if you use such images for your cover design or internal illustrations.
Another point that is hardly ever mentioned by uploaders who help with KDP self-publishing . . . don't forget that if you are fortunate and do start earning money from your book(s), then your earnings will be taxable and your country's tax inspectorate will need to levy the appropriate taxes on your income. Think ahead - do you want to have a separate bank account for KDP ropyalties? At the most basic level, keep accurate records (and copies) of any and all communications from Amazon that relate to any earnings as well as details, invoices etc. for any outgoing monies you spend on advertising or materials etc. (the latter would apply if you're designing your own cover or illustrations and are using equipment and materials for creating work on paper that will subsequently be photographed for use in your book). In other words - don't forget monies in and monies out, and keep accurate records. Succesful writers will almost certainly eventually need to use an accountant.
Thanks for the lectures. Am interested in publishing in Amazon Kdp
