I remember reading something about NASA either destroying or filming over hours of the moon landing tapes. Apparently video record keeping wasn't a high priority at NASA.

The ultimate hero. ❤i have a cousin who works for NASA but we haven't conversed in years due to security.

Maurice J. Minnifield (Barry Corbin) from Northern Exposure is perfect choice in narration.

Im 74. I stayed home from school and watched the launch and touchdown.
I watched them all.
I would turn on cartoons first thing and every channel had nothing but the launches.

Regarding the "something" that was going on outside his window, was this the sparkly mist that enveloped his capsule? It was an ethereal fog, from what I remember.

John Glenn. American Hero!
However, John Young, who flew the Gemini, Apollo, and the first Shuttle mission.
American Badass!

I remember my teacher having a TV on throughout the flight. Our job was to map where he was each time there was an update. Important history made even better by an excellent teacher! Your video brings back my excited 8 year old self! ❤

I just caught Glenn's reference to a Beatles tune ..."and I feel fine." ❤
