I have a bmw too and it’s so much better off bringing it to the dealership specifically because it’s a European car company and some small car shops don’t know the way those kinds of cars operate. It’s more expensive most times but worth it getting the true parts for your car type and brand!

You should get married by the lake where your family always hung out. All those memories will surround you.

Dental student soon to be dentist here! You should try mouth taping to sleep. Revolve sells a good tape. It has a lot of benefits but it helps correct sleep so mush. Definitely worth a shot!

My dad passed away right before yours did. I’m coming up on my one year anniversary of my wedding and this might be something I could see you doing. My dad was my something blue. Obviously one of the hardest part of a dad passing is the whole not having him to walk you down the aisle. So what I did is a took a silk blue ribbon and put a pendant picture of my dad in it and tied to around my bouquet. That way he was my something blue, since it made me blue he wasn’t there :( and then I felt like he was really like holding my hand going down the aisle. The pendant tied on the bouquet sat right where i held the stems!

Gretchen the wedding updates are so excitingggg 🤍 but the decision fatigue is REAL! I just got married in July & once you get to the day your truly won’t care about all of the details that feel so big. Im a content creator in southern maine & just got married so please let me know if you need any help/advice!

My husband made the final decision on several things like Save the Dates BECAUSE he's less of an overthinker. I'd narrow it down to 3-4 and he'd pick from those (or he'd further narrow it to like 2 and I'd pick from those 2). We use that process for a lot of things (either of us can be the one to start by proposing 3-4 options) and applying it to the wedding worked great.

One of my favorite things I did at my wedding was dance with my mom. I also walked down the aisle with both my parents and loved doing that. Also I wore that first Abercrombie dress in white for my rehearsal dinner and it was perfect

Hi Gretchen, I've been happily married for almost 13 years now. Before my wedding, my mom started getting all stressed out about details so I gave her my 'parameters' and let her plan the whole thing herself 😁 seriously, I just wanted to wear a nice dress, have a party with all my loved ones and friends and marry my guy. The details to me were irrelevant!

I think it’s completely great you did nothing the first year! You had time to relax and your vision to form, now you just are aligning to it! I simply cannot imagine the pressure of planning a wedding though so good luck, I am sure it’s gonna be so fabulous

its fun watching your wedding planning journey, as I just got married 1 week ago today! we had a 1.5 year engagement and did a small destination elopement/wedding with separate days for our ceremony and our personal vows and it was A DREAM! it is fun to see how different each wedding is based in the person

I had 11 bridesmaids and will never regret that choice!

The dealership will ALWAYS talk you into repairs that you don't need right away, it's how they make their money. The labor is the most expensive part of a repair bill. It would be that way somewhere else, but a dealership is more expensive. I stopped taking my infiniti to the dealership when it was out of the warranty, and they said I needed brakes. Got a second opinion, and I didn't need brakes for another year. I'm in the same boat of it's not worth fixing my card anymore, but the last month has been a nightmare dealing with car dealerships, because their just horrible people, and there isn't inventory for the car that I way. Did Max get his car brand new or was is slightly used. It's a beautiful car. 💕

we did a first look and did photos before the ceremony. we got to enjoy each other and our guests and cocktail hour and had fun and enjoyed our expensive party that we worked so hard for, the whole time, and it still flew by. i loved our candid golden hour photos of us dancing and laughing. i made it so not about the photos, we had so much fun, it felt so intimate and we still got great photos.

feel you on the car stuff😢 I just spent nearly $6000 on repairs😅😅 almost just wanted to get a new car but im super close to paying it off so i didnt want a new car payment!!

From someone who got married and is now past that for about 2.5 years, it's exciting to design all of this stuff but at the same time my best advice is to pick something and go with it! I know that it sounds annoying but the majority of the save the dates people won't keep- if they have a keepsake from the wedding, they will use the invitation!

My wedding is in 2 days on October 10th and we are having my future brother in law marry us. He knew my fiance before he was with me and knew me before I was with my fiance and now has seen us together so he knows us individually and together which is going to add such a special touch! Definitely recommend a family member or close friend officiating your wedding!

I feel ya with the X3/X5 bmw's! Had 2 X5's and both times named them Lucy! Eventually I just had to change it up as so many crazy repairs and expenses. I LOVED my Lucy's, but am even more in love with my dream truck (RR HSE)!!!

You should try and find a trustworthy mechanic in the cape. Nextdoor will help you find recommendations from neighbors and locals around you. I take my car to the dealership like you do too but the prices are sooo ridiculous in comparison. I sometimes take my car to a mechanic if the estimate is like thousands for a repair. A second opinion never hurts!
