Zhu Dake's article "The Drawback to Xie Jin's Model"

Video lecture on the 1986 article, translated by Hou Jianping for the 1990 Praeger anthology _Chinese Film Theory: A Guide to the New Era_. Zhu criticizes Xie's films for representing both Hollywood (hence cultural colonialism) and a conservative Confucian tradition. Covers background on each person and Chinese history, then comments on excerpts in Zhu's article, followed by commentary on a clip from _Hibiscus Town_(1986). I conclude with a discovery that Xie's 1982 film _The Herdsman 牧馬人_ is the same word as "wrangler" so Google found a bunch of Jeeps when I searched for it.
