I think that if they ever make a Wonder woman movie they should let her play Wonder woman. she has a commanding persistent and she can play a compassioned women as well. plus it would really help her carrier. I love Eva Green and 300 rise of an empire just made my lust of films I need to see in cinemas this year

Make a comeback? I didn't know her career was faltering. Lol. Regardless, Eva is fantastic, and I'm hoping these "mainstream" roles help clarify to others, what some of us already know.

Angelina Jolie is a very difficult type of actress to use correctly as she always looks a bit campy and she is not the best of actresses. She would have bombed in Casino Royale, but I do think she would be perfect for the Sin City franchise. Eva Green on the other hand was perfect for Casino Royale, but I doubt she is the type for SIn City or the 300 franchise.

Eva Green was also in one of my favorite underrated movies, Kingdom of Heaven.

I don't think her career has been in limbo since Casino Royale. After the Bond movie she stared in nice European films such as Perfect Sense, Cracks, and Womb (one of my favourite movies of all time). Of course these movies are not blockbusters, but maybe she isn't a blockbuster actress. Believe me, blockbusters are not everyone's cup of tea and it's great that some actors and directors still take time to make movies for the public that doesn't like blockbuster movies.

Sin City, misandric bullshit; don't care who's in that, won't be paying to see that.

I love Eva Green I saw her for the first time on the Dreamers because I'm a huge fan of Bernardo Bertolucci and wow she is really a great actress it'll be interesting to see her as an action tough girl

She still have Sin City 2, i think Ava Lord is the perfect role for her.

At the end of the day, Angelina is a strong actress. Sure, Tomb Raider was moderately bad, but it wasn't on her head. She is a skilled actress and makes each role the biggest she can make it. Eva to me, has too much of a checkered past. She was alright in Camelot, pretty bad in Dark Shadows (I would say Depp, Chloe Grace Moretz and Helena Bonham Carter were the saving grace). In terms of Casino Royale, if Vesper Lynd was the original Bond girl, it would have made sense for Jolie to play her.

No, I think there's more to it. Consider that the last Burton-Depp combo, Alice in Wonderland, opened to $116 million, grossed $325 million, and made $1 billion at the global box office. Then...Dark Shadows totally fizzled. If it was a strong product, WB would have put it somewhere where it could thrive, like in March, but they knew it was kind of weak, so tried to make it a counter-programming picture, like how Gatsby was this weekend.

I truly hope that the studios move to march is due to a lack of faith in its ability to perform in summer. I still want to take you outta nice steak dinner , the next time your in L A, unless your already spoken for of course:-)

No question I would rather see A.J over Green but I think she is a pretty good choice. I watched the dreamers on IFC awhile back.

She was right to turn both of them down. Stick to guns and hand to hand combat AJ. Long confusing speeches and sword fighting aren't exactly her specialty :(

I would choose Eva Green over Angelina Jolie ANY DAY!! Especially since now it appears that Jolie is "too good" for movies anymore. Jolie just comes off as such a cold & Standoff-ish person and I never found her acting range to be that impressive. I actually like Dark Shadows a lot and always found it so sad that it was "a box office flop." I tire of critics these days. If it's not Hipster-Indie, Dark, gritty, and realistic, or "Historical" They hate it!! When did they become such snobs?

Angelina Jolie's acting range is SOOOOOO limited though! She is always Type-casted as the cold, sexy, strong girl. Boring. Changeling was kind of a disaster and that was THE ONLY time I have seen her play against type. If not she is a strong and sexy cop. Or a sexy but in your face bi-sexual/ Lesbian supermodel, Or she is Lara Croft. I mean It's all different shades of the same color. I think people mostly Love her for her Beauty and I believe that has gone down substantially recently.

I mean don't get me wrong, she still has a lovely face, but every time I see her, her body looks More and More unhealthy. I think she has issues. If she wasn't so visually striking, do you think people would find her to be as "compelling" as an actress?

I don't think Eva Green cares about Hollywood movies. She isn't a typical american actress on that 'fame and glory' path. She usually does only 1 movie a year so her schedule isn't packed and that is by choice. Who wouldn't want the dazzling Eva Green starring in their movie. She has a dark, gothy and witchy side that is apparent in her dress and styling, further distancing herself from the typical actress.

I'm happy to see more Eva Green! She's so pretty and I actually liked Dark Shadows, I think she could be good in more comedies.

I think Eva Green was way more than just a Bond girl in Casino Royal - she elevated it considerably! Too bad Hollywood has so few choice roles - and choices - for actresses. I think she's an excellent choice for A Dame To Kill For.

@Debbie Ramos Have you seen Girl, Interrupted? Gia? George Wallace? A Mighty Heart? Her range is limited? I think not. Its a shame she's become such a tabloid fixture because Jolie is truly one of the best actresses of her generation. Anyways, back to Eva, looking forward to seeing more of her this year!

For the past 3 hours or so I've literally been geeking out over the fact that my favourite actress ever (Eva Green) is going to be playing lead roles in sequels to two awesome movies I've seen a million times. Angelina Jolie needs to retire. I'm bored of her. Eva Green has been my favourite actress since I saw her in The Dreamers around 6 years ago. I've been following up on her ever since. She also played awesome roles in Kingdom of Heaven and Franklyn.

Well, with Eva as Ava, I hope that the graphic novel's nude scenes will be kept in (after all, Eva has had no problem with nudity in the past, if the role has called for it). But beyond that, she is a very good actress.

I'm happy to see Eva Green do the movies Angelina turned down. I don't know why Angelina would turn down such big roles, on the other hand, I think Eva would do a much better job anyway.

I adore Angie with every part of me, but I get the vibe she's not as interested in film as she used to be. With the amount of kids, her UN duties, and now health battles, not to mention the movie Maleficent coming out. Back in 2010 maybe when I first read the books I heard they were casting her for Ava. I think Eva Green is a good fit though, she fits the physical description a bit better.
