Heavybags just kinda suck for uppercuts... and the timing is strongly depended on the swing
Ответитьshould i buy bob or a heavy bag
ОтветитьI would get a heavy bag but I live in a 2 bedroom apartment so I would probably get a the BOB, free standing bag or the aqua bag. Great video by the way
Ответитьfreebag reviews?
ОтветитьSpeaking for all the psychopaths, im offended.... just kidding, psychopaths cannot be offended.
Ответитьi have a friend who does a foam sword fighting thing and uses the short freestanding one as a training dummy to practice sword stuff on
ОтветитьMy karate school has those century bags with a lot of plastic at the bottom. We have areas to hang heavybags but in my 2 years of being their its never been used. I have one at home we got it for cheap but the plastic bottom is annoying because you cant do low kicks and you can either have to low or high so its fine but theres better these are just cheaper because people buy them and a month later give up on them and sell them cheap. I am not an adult and there is 100 pounds if sand in it so I only knock it over with some kicks but most of the time it's fine.
ОтветитьHeavy bag is awesome to feel the impact of your punch and get absolutely worn down in your workout, aqua bag is great for getting tough knuckles and correcting wrist position, double end bag is the bag for speed and accuracy. They should make a robot bob with the moving parts of the robot though. That would be amazing.
The rest is just... not so usefull. Except for the reflex bag that bends half way, that can be usefull too.
"Kick-punchery"
Ответитьdouble end bag is the most useful tool for develop defense skills
ОтветитьMain problem with the heavy bag, is depending on the brand the very bottom is going to basically be a brick wall and you should avoid kicking or punching unless you wanna break your hands. Secondly in general its a tougher bag which means more force back on your body. A lot of the other bags fix this problem.
As for century bobs: my main issue is the price for them just isn't worth at all for when you can just use that money to buy or aset up a bag which is way more useful.
Wall mounts: My tkd gym had them, their main charm in my opinion is in most combat gyms of any kind, karate, mma, tkd, its common practice to show up about ten-thirty minutes early, so you can warm up and stretch. Wall mounts allow the owner to create a large area of space where people can train, they are SUPER space efficent.
What are the best heavy bags? I want to buy one but i cant decide which one and where to buy it.
Ответитьthe video I was looking for! thx mate!
Ответитьeasy BOB all the way
ОтветитьThank you, this was really helpful in learning kung fu and this is helping me choose what punching bag should I choose. Thanks a lot
ОтветитьI don’t agree on the wave master xl,
If you’re accidentally knocking it over enough that it’s an issue,
you’re doing something weird,
They do travel a lot which can be irritating,
And the foam is vague, until it’s not, then you’re just kick the plastic post.
Great for practicing double kicks and acrobatic Tkd type stuff,
It would be good for Thai stuff but you’d wear the foam out in incredibly short order.
Basically everything’s it’s good for,
a Muay Thai bag can do better sitting on the floor.
It’s shines as low risk target for acrobatic kicks, but at that price, not ideal for anything.
Questionable in its value,But falling over should not be persistent a problem,
unless your pushing excessively(even with push kicks).
Once you have one it’s cheap enough to replace the core when they wear out, so I’ll always have one.
But I think overall they suck.
Wow,
A speed and double end bag are entirely different,
Your description of a speed bag could be paraphrased as such,
“if you have no intention of doing the most basic of research on what a speed bag is for and how to use it,
like me,
Don’t buy one”
With this wording you’d be right.
Speed bags are actually good for high kicks as well for targeting and practicing your high kicks.
ОтветитьOne other downside of heavy bags is that you can't really throw upper cuts on them, only like body upper cuts. Kinda minor but true nonetheless.
ОтветитьI have owned every bag on the market
the quietest bag for apartment dwellers is the BOB by far
put it on a thick foam mat pretty quiet even wth sand it it
The entire purpose of the speed bag is NOT building speed
it is to develop timing
it should be called the timing bag( it is the best way to warm up your punches befoire shadowboxing too)
the double end bag is
1. for practing slipping and bobbing/ weaving
2. to develop speed
the headache bag by century was a great double end bag for developing kick speed but they quit making it.
So basically everyone agrees that anyone who introduces themselves as "your boy ..." is a douche. Please stop doing this.
ОтветитьWow! This guy is an idiot!!!
ОтветитьDidn't even show a wooden dummy
ОтветитьSo, from what I have heard from boxing people,
Double ended bags are like better versions of speed bags.
Speed bags help with speed and rythmn, I guess.
But the movement is kind of artificial.
Double ended are also smaller ish, but the bigger range or motion makes the timing harder, and allows you to actually punch them kind of hard, And it still allows speed but not to a rediculous degree.
Your shoulder point is good though.
The thing is both double ended and speed bags are cheap and easy to setup at home, And can also be DIYed easy.
Heavy bag not as much.
And a beginner is less likely to hurt themselves on both of them.
(and you can use lighter gloves, or sometimes even no gloves ok on them.)
Which if you hit heavy bags without gloves you are going to be hurting fast and might injure yourself.
I also heard standard heavy bags, and the slimmer but longer kickboxing bags are good for kicks.
Part of me wonders if taking a bigger meatier bag and making it double-ended might be good for kicks? not sure.
Would make it swing less? But still some?
And kind of medium weight?
Like maybe on par with a kickboxing bag? Perhaps a bit more or less?
Or a smaller bag size, double-ended but closer to hip level? So the top of the bag is like where you arms are? And the bottom is like maybe knee level? Maybe like a cube or oval like that sized could be cool for kicks that go for the torso?
The Bob bag is extremely useful for practicing headkicks because it lets you practice going over the shoulder and into the crook of the neck, something a heavybag can’t do. Definitely not meant to be hit hard.
ОтветитьI’ve heard aqua bags are more similar to punching flesh. Thoughts?
ОтветитьIma black belt
ОтветитьOk got to have the shirt
ОтветитьHi
ОтветитьThe cardio fitness bag is still a good bag! Just put weight plates on it, so it doesn't move. You can still work on timing, slipping, Bob and weave, and moving around the bag and you'll still get a good workout. It may not spring too fast, but it's not slow either. To me it's in between the cobra and reflex bag and it moves good enough. So, I still recommend it in my opinion.
ОтветитьIve got a wall mount bag. Its great for doing clench knees, flying/ scissor knees. Along with punching combos and angle changes
ОтветитьI always enjoyed working with a heavy bag on a long chain. The thing dances around the room like you were in a boxing ring, so youre chasing it around.
ОтветитьBuild your own, PVC pipe in a base. PVC pipe bends but if you use 3/4" to 1" PVC and a heavy base that thing will come at you as fast as a real punch (or close). But it doesn't just come so far (limited by a cobra spring) and it ins't easy to lean out of the way or a bad habit of pulling straight back cause that thing will come back on the rebound and nearly touch the ground if you hit it hard enough. So you really do have to move your head off center, or block. But PVC is superior to a $400 Cobra bag, in my opinion. An Australian dude on here has a ton of videos how to make them, and I have made 3 or 4 of them myself.
Ответитьkwuuull
ОтветитьI’m really more interesting in where you got that shirt 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
ОтветитьDouble end bags are great.
They really move around a lot if you want them to. You can actually work some defense and movement. Its cool
"wich means you have lots of motion on the bottom" cmon man
ОтветитьI've laid a full power hook into an aqua bag without wraps or gloves before and it was about the worst pain my hand has ever been in without causing any specific injury. With gloves and wraps they're awesome.
ОтветитьSpeedbag is good for front delts and not much else. Stick with dumbbells
Ответить+
ОтветитьI had a bad habit of pushing too much with my punches giving me joint pains in albow and shoulder. Now I use a haninging loosely anchored gym robe (the ones for climbing) for punching bare knuckles. It's great for getting a lot of snap in the punches without unnecessary pushing. The focus on aligning the knuckles correctly and finding flow-speed instead of power punching is much more natural. I don't know the value for kicking yet. I just started some still bad savate kicks on it
ОтветитьYOU showed all kinds of bags, but should have shown a little bit of striking on each bag it would have been a better video
ОтветитьOj mmomplk😅i
ОтветитьDon't forget wives
Ответитьi snapped the metal of my cardio bag
Ответитьthanks kung fu tony romo - big fan of the double end bag
