I find that the "chain one of them down" thing doesn't work as the other will just stick near the chained down one

This strategy doesn't seem to work anymore. The bots start maneuvering earlier than in this video and you no longer get to shoot their broadside by "jousting". They still suck at hitting you, but your broadside won't land anymore either because your target will be heavily angled by the time you get there.

A very good tactic thank you. I will be able to own this exam easy now. Also Hello from the Danes over at RDCAF. Many of us are from USNA and CLAW and other US fleets who decided we would like it better to be danes.

Found a better strat just literally start sailing away use your rear guns to de mast the ships then when they are at a speed disadvantage turn and rake them and keep going further. Repeat until both ships are demasted

Thank you, I made it with "jousting" method for first time. (It took almost hour and half, but with repairs and careful picking target is doable)

They must have gave the ai an update because they are always avoiding their hurt side and seem to sink me after a couple “jousts”

What I think is weird is, in reality the stay sails are one of the MAIN things you use to turn (because by golly, turning those huge square sails is near impossible).

But you do it more when tacking than when jibing.

instead of this, just keep sailing ahead of them and try to demast one with ball shot not chain shot and then demast the other and finish them off seperately

this exam takes alot of patience

Great video, thanks! Love that you name and a lot of the sailing concepts that you used. One of the biggest challenges of being a new player is not knowing what you don't know - i.e., all the terminology.

How long does T stay effective so the square sails take wind again?

I can't make distance from the AI they chase me and stay close.... and they don't line up like that for me at all.

They always turn shoot at me as I come in, and then they turn early and hit me with their other broadside when I pass through

I like how you have to find a new one of these every 6 months or so because the devs want you to buy their premium ships and DLC 😂
