Here is an early British musical film starring Sari Maritza as Anna, whose romance with Rikki (William Freshman) comes under strain when she meets an impresario who wishes to promote her career as a singer and dancer. This is technically quite a primitive film but it does display some period charm with the leads, both of whom are quite appealing. "Greek Street" has never been televised in the UK, but it was made available in the US by an early video distributor, Video Yesteryear, in the 1980's. This regrettably is a truncated print. The film is however preserved by the BFI but to date it has remained firmly locked away in their vaults. Maybe one day it will emerge to be seen in higher quality than this VHS copy.
