Mmm looks really yummy, must try this as I love rhubarb. Thanks for sharing ❤.
ОтветитьAbsolutely scrumptious! Kirsten, you have one of those most delightful voices. It makes me hang on every word spoken. And it’s wonderful to see both Jorge and yourself in your beautiful kitchen. My reliable rhubarb grows well in the garden and your recipe will be added to the card collection. Thank you so much for sharing. Carpe Diem! ❤
ОтветитьKirsten, lovely rhubarb treats! Try not skipping meals, though. Enjoy a lighter breakfast and evening meal (more fruit and vegetables) when you have such scrumptious desserts. "Everything in moderation, including moderation." --Oscar Wilde. We all deserve to treat ourselves well...and if that means cream and cake and a cuppa Earl Grey, make it so. ✨ (also: now singing "Barbaras Rhabarberbar" tongue twister that I recently learned from Feli from Germany's YT channel, haha 🥰)
ОтветитьThe Rhurbarb tart looked devine💕
ОтветитьIt doesn’t matter to me the subject of the video, I tune in for Kirsten’s voice. Thanks Kirsten.
ОтветитьMy mother also always made a compote from leftover rhubarb - for context, I'm an elder millennial living in Wisconsin in the USA with German heritage. Not sure if it had been handed down in the family, or where she got the recipe, but this unlocked a memory for me! Love these recipe videos. ❤
ОтветитьStrawberry Rhubarb is the best though.. am i right? It's a match made in heaven
ОтветитьLove rhubarb, but it’s not customary to peel it , we just wash and chop.
ОтветитьFrom Wendy- your dress is fabulous and looks really good on you!
ОтветитьMy mother, many years ago gave us rhubarb jam but told us it was strawberry. It was delicious. This brought back lovely memories for me too. I love your videos and your banter.
Love from Maree in Australia
Grew up in the Midwest with my mom cooking lots of rhubarb. Never was a fan, but love your videos!
Ответить😋😋😋
ОтветитьLovely video! Thank you for sharing.
ОтветитьYour kitchen is absolutely fabulous!! I love it so much!! I live in California and have never ever tasted rhubarb! Crazy!! ❤❤
ОтветитьYour cake looks delicious, I really like fancy making that as I love rhubarb. A family thing we did when I was young and still like it was to stew Bramley apples with sugar to make a thick purée and have that with evaporated milk which does look like the tinned one you used with the rhubarb. It is not the same as condensed milk and is made under the name of Carnation, it is a thinner creamy pouring consistency. Love your cooking videos.
ОтветитьI love rubard pie i never heard of a cake i can't wait to try it. Kirsten you look amazing in that dress i love it. And the table setting is better then any fancy restaurant i love all the saucers, plates china everything n i remember all the glassware when you shopped for it n the red n white stripe tea cups i remember the tore you took through the factory n how they were made. Lovely video your mom would have been so proud. I know what you mean about writing recipes down. I wish i had some of our family recipes. Thanks for sharing❤❤
ОтветитьThis looks delicious! Strawberry rhubarb pies are popular in the springtime here in the midwest of the US. I love how you make every task, from baking to traveling, extra special through your attention to detail and taking your time to savor each experience.
ОтветитьOi amigos, amei a viagem que vocês fizeram para a Irlanda ❤
ОтветитьI love Rhubarb especially crumble ....hot with cream or evap xx
Ответить
Looks yummy. 😋 If you cook sweetened condensed milk, as opposed to regular condensed milk, it is similar to custard. As a child, I liked rhubarb pie, but I was the only one in my family that liked it.
ОтветитьThe cake looks delicious. Long time follower and love seeing your new kitchen over and over again.
ОтветитьThat german bear milk is more or less the same as our English evaporated milk. I think the the german ones are thinner , less concenfrated than our standard evaporated milk. Both products contain only milk.
English condensed milk is quite a different product , its thick and terribly sweet as its milk plus sugar ..
Im a Brit, living in Germany and it took me years to figure out some of these basic ingredients.
Thanks for the memories. 😊
ОтветитьMy grandma used to make stewed fruit with evaporated milk or custard and we had strawberries with evap and hint sugar in the summer too until single cream really took over in the eighties ;)! . But we used condensed milk in toffee and fudge making occ which is really thick and super sweet.
ОтветитьThe dr oetgers pudding pdr is the same as birds custard pdrwithout the sugar, incase anyone cant find it...both are just Cornstarch with vanilla .
ОтветитьOh my goodness, that looks delicious! Thank you both for sharing one of you family recipes.
ОтветитьLooks absolutely delicious! Loved your rhubarb recipes. Also love your kitchen. When I was young in the 60's/70's as a quick treat, my Mum made stewed rhubarb with evaporated milk, not quite as nice as her delicious Rhubarb crumble. Brought back nice memories. Thankyou
ОтветитьHi Kristen and Joerg. That cake looks delicious and easy and I love Rhubarb. Your kitchen looks so beautiful. It turned out so great.. Have a good week and thank you for the cooking lesson!!❤️ Beverlee
ОтветитьYou both are a living story book
ОтветитьThis reminds me of a rhubarb custard recipe a friend gave me many years ago. Can’t find it and never made it but seem to recall it was eggs used, not pudding. Can’t go wrong with any of the ingredients!
ОтветитьI have made the rabarb cake this evening and I couldn’t waite the whole 2 hours to cool down.
The cake tast amazing and the whiped cream with it!😋
I loved this just delish cake . It looks soooo good...😊 my fave is rubarb .. I so much love 😂to see both of you in your pretty kitchen .. with your gorgeous table set so nice❤.. thanks for making a cheery day .. as always !! xxx 😊😊
ОтветитьThank you Kirsten for sharing those delicious recipes which I am going to try as I have rhubarb growing in my garden right now. My mother used to stew rhubarb and mix the compote into creamy custard, which is similar to your second dish - mmm, I will definitely try that too. Also stewed rhubarb is nice mixed into strawberry jelly. (All my childhood memories returning). PS - I love nice china, and you set a beautiful table. Your dress is so nice and summery too.
ОтветитьIn Ohio where my grandma grew rhubarb, it was called a Spring Tonic no matter how ot was prepared. Your recipe seems lovely.
ОтветитьI thoroughly enjoyed this video and I am going to make this cake it looks wonderful. I normally make rhubarb and apple pie with custard for a dessert.. But the cake looks so yummy. .I love your videos ....
Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьI think he does want the entire cake-who can blame him? You guys made my sad day bright!
ОтветитьI watched it twice in order not to miss out any detail of your kitchen and china :) The recipe is certainly very good and indeed rhubarb is very affordable as well!
ОтветитьRhubarb and custard used to be a popular pudding here in England.
ОтветитьThat was a brilliant tummy rumble.😱😂
ОтветитьThis world is not a brilliant place to live somtimes.
But when I watch your vlogs it takes you into a lovely little place.
I just love watching you two, so gentle and charming.❤
Your cake looks like it was a lot of fun to make. I’m so happy you were able to enjoy it, and that turned out well. Maybe one of these days I will try this recipe myself and let you know how I like it too. Thank you ❤️🙂
ОтветитьLeeecker...yummy...!!
ОтветитьLove your cooking videos ❤❤
ОтветитьI got the biggest laugh …”You have to have childhood memories to like this”. The quote of the century! 😂😂
ОтветитьThat dress is beautiful, and fits perfect! That looks very good and I have tons of rhubarb. Still just love that amazing new kitchen everytime. I like to make rhubarb hand pies.
ОтветитьYou correctly said that UK condensed milk is very sweet! However, the tin of German milk you used looks more like the UK tinned evaporated milk, which is quite different to condensed. It is more liquid and much less sweet xxx
