for years this was my fave coaster even after doing nemesis and others, it took a lot to top it
ОтветитьI haven't been on Vampire since i went to Chessington all the way back in 2014 when i was 11, but i do remember it being very fun, especially the theming in the queue. One thing I'd recommend if you haven't seen it already is a POV of Vampire back when it first opened in the 90s, it's soo strange seeing it without dense shrubbery around it.
ОтветитьIt's one of my favourite rides and the fact that it has such a unique history and one of the last of the arrow dynamic coasters in the country thats inverted just makes it better. And you cannot fault the entrance with the music as you go in with Marcel and I just love the ride in general like it's not the fastest but I just love inverted coasters cos I really enjoy nemesis Inferno in Thorpe Park
ОтветитьVampire was my first big coaster and even after riding the smiler/nemesis/saw etc vampire is still one of my favourite rides!! Underrated fr
ОтветитьVampire was the coaster that converted me to thoosie 😊
ОтветитьI went to Chessington recently with my friend and we were both scared of rollercoasters, the worst one we did was the flying fish and we both loves this ride and i was laughing all the time while my friend was screaming 24/7 but at the end we both enjoyed it and we will be doing dragons fury mandrill mayhem and stealth soon
ОтветитьI am a blind person, and I went to Chessington in 2021. My favourite two attractions are, unabashedly, Croc Drop and Vampire. Vamprie has new sounds in the queue, and then the station is it's own area you can't hear the rest of the queue at all, and it smells in there! It was a very fun ride and as someone not familiar with inversions, I really enjoyed myself. Croc Drop has an audio atmosphere which feels complete. The queue has it's own sound, when you first go into the station there's special audio, when you actually board the sound seems to surround you with the chanting, and then the ride itself has it's own onboard and even ending themes. Absolutely brilliant, and my first ever drop tower wxperience. These two lead me to Paulktons, and Flight of Terrasoar, Veloceraptor, Storm Chacer which is more intense than I thought it would be, and Magma and Windmill Towers. I think my next plan is next year we'll do Paultons, and Chessington, so that I can experience an inversion on Mandril Mayhem. The ultimate aim is Thorpe Park which would then open up many more possibilities of theme parks abroad if I can handle it.
ОтветитьVampire is my favourite ride at Chessington.
Also Vampire isn't the only Arrow suspended coaster left, there's still a few Arrow suspended coasters with their original trains in North America, like Iron Dragon at Cedar Point, Bat at Kings Island, Ninja at Six Flags Magic Mountain & Vortex at Canada's Wonderland, Vampire is the only one left outside of North America. Vekoma also has a model that used Arrow trains that has installations in Japan, Thailand & Belgium
There is one thing about Vampire that I have been trying to find footage or photographs of. During the Halloween seasons of 2007-2009, as soon as you enter back into the building at the end of the ride, there was a Witch statue present. It actually was effective how striking it was. It is bizarre how many don’t remember this.
ОтветитьI remember absolutely hating this ride when I first rode it, mostly due to those restraints and backrests feeling particularly uncomfortable back then.
Went on it again a few years later - and that time I actually enjoyed it. Shame about it being rather painful the first time round, and, given the younger/family target demographic, I really think the seats and restraints could do with being made a bit more comfortable.
Lol im so glad someone finally talks about vampy
ОтветитьAfter riding this last year for the first time since 2018, I thought it wasn't as good as it was when I was a kid. The arrow jank is hard to appreciate when the trains are made from hard plastic and the restraints don't really give you much to hold on to. The tunnel section was surprisingly fun but the rest of it felt a bit slow.
ОтветитьI rode it with the original trains, couldn't tell you which was better cos I literally only went back this year to experience the new trains so it's been too long to really remember.
ОтветитьI used to work at Chessington! I mainly attended rattlesnake. Checking restraints and stuff but I've been in almost all untrained positions in the park. If you have any questions lmk! :)
ОтветитьI Love Vampire, It got my over my fear of Rollercoasters
Also i agrees with everything you said
poor marcel he did nothing wrong </3
ОтветитьLove it 🙌🙌🙌
