NEW Lexus and Lambo GT3 - Average Sim Racer STRUGGLING With New Tire Model - LMU June Update

I am thinking about buying this game, I mostly play forza Motorsport since it's pretty much the only "sim" that has multiplayer. Would love a beginners video for gt3 and maby even which dlcs to buy.

Sound wise, i can't say much about the Lexus given I've never heard it in person, and probably never will given how few GT3 RC-Fs exists AND where they all reside AND that Toyota are about to replace them in top level racing like WEC and IMSA, but it does sound very nice in-game! The Huracan however i have heard as Iron Lynx had 1 car entered in ELMS last year (and of course i go there to pay the guys at Nielsen Racing a visit combined with a great day at Spa with amazing racing) and i have to say... Something is annoying me with the sound of the Huracan. I don't know what or why but i genuinly don't understand why i think it isn't close to the real thing... Weird.

A note i do want to give about the liveries. It really bugs me that they put custom liveries behind a paywall (or some kind of subscription). I get that it takes a lot of resources for them to even get this in in the first place as they are a small team but this still leaves a very sour taste in my mouth. A real shame 😞

This was the video I wanted to see, because these are my experiences exactly. The thing that makes it tough is that it happens quite often when you are coasting so it's not even something you can adjust with TC or brake balance, like you usually would. I bet the online lobbies will be wild for a while.

I tried all of the GT3s except for the Corvette today and all had changed, obviously. Especially the Ferrari and Lexus caused me quite a lot of issues. On the other hand Porsche and especially Mustang felt really easy and comfortable. I bet Mustang will be very popular still. Personally I think I will go with the Lambo, at least for a while as, like you said, it seemed to be that true mid engine racer that is more nimble than McLaren, but doesn't want to kill you in every corner like the Ferrari.

New update resume : The Skies Return.

Today after the patch I go to the daily and it's spa. i do qualy all good, qualify fifth and start the race, in the chat i see people before the start complaining about the fast corners and the loss of grip on the rear axle. We arrive to eau rouge.... i'm fifth and i see literally the first 4 cars to go out in the high part of the curve. obviously i also went out and spun and crashed against the wall with 2 other cars and i see that the ones behind me also spun and came out of control towards me....


Wrecked car, wheels flying, broken spoilers.... 9 DNF in the first lap... the chat complaining obviously.


It feels very strange, the loss of grip is sudden and practically impossible to counteract. Maybe it's a setup thing or maybe it's something we have to adapt to but at first I didn't like it.

Lol, so iracing does an update to be more like LMU, and LMU does an update to he more like iracing.

It's ridiculous how understeery these cars are now, it's like driving gt4

So far I'm not enjoying this update , shadows seem worse ( all on max settings) the sound quality doesn't seem to be as high , hard crash and the handling of the gt3 cars are now very unpredictable . I'll try again later

I dont get how these cars come with 1 or 2 liveries

The graphics look poor to me, like a very old computer game. It's sort of "flat" - no ambient occlusion, poor shaders. It looks quite oversaturated and cartoony. Disappointing for a modern game.

The online races are total mess now , half of the people dont even finish. Cars are very curb , tire temperature and damage sensitive . The idea of GT3 cars is to be forgiving ,i understand they try to limit the drifting but they are some inconsistency in the cars behavior that its even less realistic. The drifting just have to make you slower and destroy tires , not make the car randomly snaps

I'm 65 years old, been playing Sim for 12 months, played it on 9 Jun and 11 Jun prior to and after the update respectively. The physic has gone wrong. Car snapped abruptly and can't be saved as before. The tyre gone wear off after few laps. Will give it a further try after work.

Great content - thanks! I’m enjoying the update. The tyre sound helps provide more info about grip, the brakes seem more powerful but needs more tuning of abs in this update…

So i mostly drive the 911 LMGT3, and last night i struggled way too much at le mans with the 911 because it killed me so many times, but then i took a break and came back, and i was able to get up to the same pace and even better than before the update, i only had to increase the brake bias and it really worked, i think they will fix the fixed setups so that the cars are more in line to how they drove before the update.

Once the patch these bugs, then this update is an absolute success

the game feels bad again, Im not racing anymore , im just trying to not die all the time :( .Had a race at spa and 12 cars out of 19 DNF'd. Its not realistic , its just silly. Hope they revert this back to how it was before. Quatar feels as booring as bahrain . Overall i give them -10/10 for this uptade , its really bad. Even Ai are struggling to do a lap xd

They stopped the 'drift meta' by making making the slip angle more of a knife edge. They could have just increased tyre heat and wear from drifting, but instead they made the game like iracing lol. These cars are designed to be easy to drive but now they want to kill you.

In qualifying the car had grip, but in the race it felt like ice skating. Something is definitely wrong!

Im getting a lot of lag in the menus with the new update

Its funny iracing gt3 now feels more like lmu which is funny because James helped them the most yet lmu feels more like the old iracing lol which people thought wasnt great. I think lmu needs someone like James a hardcore Sim racer and real driver. Not just real drivers that are sub par Sim racers who dont understand Sim racing in general. I feel this update was a bit of a step backwards.

Now iracing has the amazing tire slip angle feeling and lmu made it so you cant lean on it at all and imo thats not how it should be. You shouldn't go from amazing tire slip angle maybe to much to having like none you cant lean and push the car at all. Its absurd.

ABS settings are radically different now and they matter a lot more. Now you have to get the ABS setting right first then set your brake bias based on that. Its arguably the biggest change of the update and absolutely no one outside of Discord is talking about it.

Totally agree. Step backwards in handling. GT3 cars drive like there is no downforce or grip in the rear. Also noticed some weird shadow artifact at the bottom of windscreen where it meets the dashboard.

they went overboard with the new tire model . The cars now do not have any lateral grip . Also the FBB does not give you the feeling of when this is about to happen. And of course when you loose it . There 0 chance or recovery. 😢

Good info! Excited to try it when i have some time. Quick note though your voice sounds very boomy / bassy its very difficult to listen to maybe reduce eq in the mid low end

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. LMU takes a massive step backwards and iRacing surpasses them with a giant leap forward.

The new iRacing GT3 cars feel incredible.

You shouldn't snap like that with a little push, sometthing is definitely wrong here. ACC is my new normal until this gets fixed.

I tried LMU GT3 for first time today< never used old tire model except for trying out like 6 laps on the LMP2 a couple weeks ago, but this is horrendous. Nearly every input you do you slide out when trying to race at speed. And in what world do you spin out by trail breaking in a straight line or lifting into a minor turn like you showed at spa. Even before iracing new update, iracing was no where close to as bad as this.

I dont think ive ever been to consistently get top 7 before the update just by starting in the back of the field and just Sunday cruise the whole race at Spa. Everything is haywire at the moment

Coming from iracing I tried LMU this week for first time and I feel like I have to under drive the cars to keep them on track. Even then I still crashed more than usual.

I rarely got to push the pace with the exception of Sebring and LeMans.

I read that this game gets a console version. I am up for that 😁

I lost 4 whole seconds at monza after the update because of the weird changes to ABS along with the weird lack of grip. So the game is less amature friendly to be honest.

High speed instand rear snaps really giving my iR flashbacks 😂 Like no downforce whatsoever... I get it with low-mid speed, but gosh I'm scared to turn now

I don't mind it tbh, feels similar, the only difference is it`ll bite you big time if you overstep, so its a bit more unforgiving. The lambo drives nice and feels planted. The Lexus is faster but drives a bit like the Porsche, lots of rotation but the back end is very fragile and throws you off easier than most cars

Just built my first rig, so I’m a newbie- I’m loving how the GT3s feel - challenging but I wouldn’t expect anything else - steer with your feet!

GT3 new tire model the rear has not enough grip anymore.
