Stallone went back and made some revisions to this film, and it was released as Rocky IV: Rocky vs Drago. Some parts were taken out (Paulie’s birthday robot) and in the fight between Apollo and Drago, Apollo was a bit more competitive. He still took a vicious beating and eventually died, but he showed more in the first round. I believe Stallone has stated that he regrets having the Apollo character die. If Apollo had lived, it would have definitely changed the dynamics of the “Creed” films.
ОтветитьI think either before or after this movie was released Sylvester Stallone got married to Bridgette Nelson
ОтветитьI think they shot the scenes in Russia in Canada to make it look like Russia
ОтветитьThis is why I miss the 80s. When we watched movies like Rocky 4, we didn't have to hear about this "toxic masculinity" bs.
ОтветитьPlease, just skip Rocky V and just go strait to Rocky Balboa. Rocky V was a definite low point in the franchise.
ОтветитьLuvvv the Red 👊🏻
ОтветитьThe irony was all of them were juiced to the gills and apparently dehydrated AF Stallone was drinking coffee all day to dry himself out
ОтветитьCarl Weathers did not want to be killed off.
He fell out with Sylvester!!
rewatching these movies here has made me realize that these rocky movies were all quality films and Silvestre Stallone is a great writer
ОтветитьMay not be the best movie in the series but it's the one with the best soundtrack in my opinion. Still go back to it for a workout playlist...orrr to have a sandwich on the couch while trying to get motivated to work out , let's be real😂
Ответитьlol oh the people saying watch rocky 5 ….. IT IS TERRIBLE! In almost every way the ending fight is good but other than that it’s ridiculous… like for example the movie picks up immediately after the last but his son ages like 7 years … that’s not the biggest complaint the way rocky overly goes back to talking like a thug is annoying as shit and don’t someone comment “its because he got brain damage derp” Sylvester Stallone himself said this movie is trash and wished he never made it.
ОтветитьFun fact the guy who plays Pauly was an actual bad ass boxer in real life 17-0 pro record and won 32 of 34 fights in the marine corps
ОтветитьI read a bit of advice that I think all reactors should take to heart: Never skip a movie in a franchise. It may be crap on a stick, in an otherwise awesome franchise. But it's someone's favorite movie ever, and probably has some redeeming feature in it, somewhere.
Don't get me wrong; I can't think of anything great about Rocky V. But Star Trek V (certainly another "worst in franchise contender") was one of the first movies I saw in a theater, and it's still a nostalgic guilty pleasure. So, empathy, I guess.
Burt Young is the real deal, is an American actor, painter, author, and boxer. He served a tour of duty in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 to 1959, and while in the Marine Corps, he boxed regularly, winning 32 of 34 boxing bouts.
ОтветитьThat montage after Apollo’s funeral gets me every time! 😢
ОтветитьOlympics are amateur sports.
ОтветитьSly was FINE with that facial hair! 🥰
ОтветитьThis was a Cold War/ East vs West message. That point always gets missed by younger reactors and skews their view on this film. It's the same reason we got Godzilla and the rest of the Kaiju movies, those movies were a commentary on the era and fear of the Atomic Bomb. Every film era is a reflection of its time.
ОтветитьAll the steriods. And it still couldn't protect drago's jaw, once rocky realized his face was a weakness, it was on!!!
ОтветитьThis movie has the Best sound track of any movie ever.
ОтветитьBest Rocky movie
ОтветитьWhy can't they see the subtitles for the Russian?
ОтветитьRocky 1 - Rocky finds himself.
Rocky 2 - Rocky proves himself.
Rocky 3 - Rocky rebrands himself.
Rocky 4 - Rocky dates himself.
Rocky 5 - Rocky repairs his family.
Rocky Balboa - Rocky rejuvenates himself.
Each movie reflects the point in Stallone's career and personal life at the respective time.
Friggin Dolph…6’5” ripped, speaks 5 languages, masters in chemical engineering, karate, movie star, cherry on top would be if he can sing for real and dance.
ОтветитьYou guys should watch the director's cut of this one, just for fun. It's even better.
ОтветитьThe most silly american 80s film but it's fun
ОтветитьWoooooooo america
Ответить5 is the worst but good idea done wrong mainly the end of the film creed did the idea better
ОтветитьThowing in the towel by the rules does not stop the fight and a ref has the right to throw the towel back out of the ring. If you want to stop the fight during the round the chief second ( the lead trainer) has to just enter the ring
ОтветитьReal boxing announcer Barry Thompkins calls the fight
ОтветитьThis and the 3rd the punch sound is so over the top
ОтветитьThe movie is simple by design, but it may be the strongest emotionally. And that's art, art is creation and expression of emotions. For that reason alone, this one is usually considered one of the strongest entries in the franchise.
ОтветитьAbsolutely no defence in these movies lol. Just hands down taking every punch.
Ответитьthere is no such thing as toxic masculinity, for fucks sake, stop saying this bs.
Ответитьi think this was always my favorite. I remember watching these with my mom while growing up in the late 90s.
ОтветитьMichael: "New enemy, unlocked". LOL love it!! 😄
ОтветитьYou will find out who won that 3rd fight in Creed I Drago was also in The Expendables with Stallone.
Ответитьthere is no such thing as Toxic Masculinity.
Just as there is no toxic femininity.
There is just TOXIC - which can come in all forms. But here is truth. the only thing that can defend the world from TOXIC people in general be it masculine or feminine people - IS MASCULINE PEOPLE with good intent. we need to stop demonising Masculinity. It keeps the world safe, and protects you and your families. because evil will always exist.
There's nothing "toxic" about masculinity, Vivan. Just saying. There's only toxic individual people. That silly term (and the agenda behind it) is only turning a whole generation of men into effeminate weaklings who are afraid of being men. Society just has to learn to distinguish what true toxicity of poor character from everything else. Like said before, nothing's wrong with masculinity in [real] men, just like there nothing wrong with femininity in women. Toxic people are just toxic people. Period.
ОтветитьDolph Lundgren had a similar physique to SLY's physique. Stallone saw a lot in himself in Dolph Lundgren. It's too bad Dolph didn't big of an action star like SLY did. Maybe if he did movies in Russia's Hollywood he could've.
ОтветитьMy dad and cousin Tina went to see this movie in theaters, and the crowd was on their feet chanting Rocky, Rocky, Rocky, it was crazy my cousin said. I would've loved to have been in the theater in 1985 to experience it. I was seven months old when this movie premiered in theaters.
ОтветитьI was 8 the first time I saw this movie and I legit thought Drago was a robot until Rocky cut him and Duke said he’s just a man.
ОтветитьIn the scene where Rocky gets in his car during “no easy way out,” the word southpaw is misspelled on the license plate 😮.
And in the scene in the ring with Apollo, one moment you see his bare hands and another you see his boxing gloves automatically put on. 😮
My favorite is Big Pun using the lines of this movie in one of his songs, but in the reversed sense. The album “Capital Punishment” is one of my favorites.
ОтветитьI love the soundtracks in Sly's Movies always great🫶
