How I feel about the xbox one x , it is more powerful then the PS4 Pro... but the PS4 has better exclusives . so more power means nothing. The good Xbox games are on PC. I have a very powerful gaming PC so no need for Xbox at all.

From a marketing standpoint, I would wait to release any classic Atari games and bring out big games like Doom, Dark Souls, A Hat In Time, etc. The classic carts were developed by Sega, Activision, Nintendo, Sony, Hasbro, etc. All of these companies will want a cut. Activision alone has developed a majority of Atari's library. I have the feeling that they will make a bunch of classic games that have not been developed or agreed to be published by the devs.

Bam...take a BREAK...get out of your dwelling and ON your skateboard, your MIND & BODY need you to do this. Plus...try to get CLEAN(again mind & body), you are becoming DELUSIONAL. I really want to see the Atari brand to make a good console but sadly, that is looking like a pipe dream (which I play Pipe Dream on the Amiga 500)

I would use the original Atari VCS case with a pi3 to run retropie other than that I could care less about this gaming console..

I made a comment on the Atari VCS page that it would be great if it had the capability to plug in 2600,5200 and 7800 carts plus have all the new games coming to this amazing system. The reply was there are plenty of retro systems that play old carts and its not what people want. So 85% of the people who are going to buy this are die hard Atari fans! I want this system to come out and thrive but slapping Atari fans in the face is not how you do it. I would pay $500 for a system that plays new games and old carts! Build a great product and people will pay good money for it!

All they had to do was to buy thousands of Raspberry PI's, use their own wooden console case and OS then put the Rapsberry inside their wooden box and call it a day lol it would've been enough for most people ( who don't know about the Raspberry ).

As someone who runs a custom PC boutique (not named here), the reason they're doing this (speculative) is so that they can attract people to make games for this.

Today they announced the pre order & you click the link for Walmart pre order & its not there!! GameStop’s link says platform not available, category is controller, release date is New Year’s Eve & priced almost $400, but the press release says its shipping March 2020!!! I got on their mailing list back in 2017, Dec. 11 2017 i get an email saying LET THE GAMES BEGIN! and that official preorders begin dec. 14th. I got updated email dec. 14 saying the launch preorders are officially paused. Then i get another email march 2018 saying theyre no longer ataribox and now rebranded atari VCS and it has some bs quotes from ign and a couple others saying the controller is really good.

Remember ATARI Jaguar? Do the math. I'm really sad to see ATARI be like this. But it's like this.

At least the Atari VCS is launch and is getting games like Tempest 4000 which is also coming to the Nintendo Switch this March.
