Whether in Brazil or the U.S, when the government only has to point the finger of accusation and declare anyone a criminal, it's all over. There is no more rule of law, only tyranny. They had to go before a court, which upheld the principle of presumption of innocence, and try to obtain a conviction, from a jury, following the rules of evidence. All this is threatened by this wind of authoritarianism. Where are the civil libertarians? Harris and Walz have shown themselves to be not at all constrained by constitutional principle. I don't think they are really that stupid, I suspect they are willing to destroy all our civil rights if tempted to do so. If you don't get the first amendment right, nothing else matters.
