4 (or more) palettes 4 (or more) looks - I hope sooooo much, that BBB Poison garden will be included 🙏
Ответить20-25 years ago Nalgene water bottles became trendy and I've been carrying water ever since. Fancy water like Evian had become trendy (thanks to Hollywood/Cali influence), so Nalgene was the environmental answer. Originally designed for hiking, they are still great. Like another person said about Canada, as virus scares have come and give, you just don't see water fountains anymore. Plus you can't count on water quality.
For example, at my work we don't have a workng water fountain, but we do have several water coolers. And they don't provide cups. How can I drink water without buying from the bending machine?? Haul a water bottle around.
Great video and commentary...I think if there was a position where someone could comment on the beauty industry you would be great because you are so inciteful and not overly dramatic like I've seen from other sources. Your insights are thoughtful researched which I appreciate because you are teaching me about beauty and business BTW I Loove the look and how well it pulls out the subtle colours of your dress 👗 ❤😊
ОтветитьOkay so history lesson for Angie time!
Starting in the 60s, an animation company named Rankin/Bass made a lot of 1-hour made-for-tv holiday family movies. They were aired annually on broadcast (just like the Charlie Brown cartoons were) and based on already-existing holiday songs. They are all very sweet and heartwarming. There is definitely a nostalgia aspect to them, but they are genuinely good as well, with lovely messages. Most are stop-motion animation, with Frosty being the one hand-drawn movie.
The most famous/popular of these Rankin/Bass specials are:
- Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
- Frosty the Snowman
- Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town (generally considered the best)
- The Year Without a Santa Claus (generally considered the most entertaining)
These four are critical Christmas culture for almost all Americans at this point, and are highly worth watching even if just for the understanding.
There are more that many people haven’t seen, that you’ll probably enjoy as well if you watch the “core four” and want more.
- Nestor the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey (Nativity)
- The Little Drummer Boy (also Nativity, arguably the 5th “core” movie)
- Rudolph’s Shiny New Year (Rudolph sequel about the New Year holiday)
- Jack Frost (this one is the most mature/bittersweet and is about the American holiday Groundhog Day. I HIGHLY recommend it)
- Frosty Returns (Frosty sequel that has a GREAT song)
There might be others as well hut those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head. Happy watching!
Hee hee kinda hoping you buy the Ta just for your review and then give us a bunch of dupes from your worthy collection and maybe pickup a crap ton of views since Ta duos seem to be on fire, lol well tied to a stake type on fire 😂
ОтветитьPatrick Ta done lost his mind!
ОтветитьMaybe I'm the odd one out as I have seen people talk about how carrying your drink around is a thing that started happening maybe 10 years ago. But in my experience most people have always carried a drink? Whether it's soda or water or juice. It was always normal to either bring a drink with you when you leave the house or stop by the gas station first thing to grab a drink before you did anything else. Gas stations used to have those big refillable thick plastic cups with the lid and scrunchy straw that had a little cap and people would carry them everywhere. This was the 90s.
ОтветитьI have no idea about the Frosty the Snowman movie but that collection is giving me SUCH Christmas feels. It's bloody cute!
ОтветитьI only liked huda's large pans
ОтветитьHudas 9 pans never excited me at all
ОтветитьStanley Cups used to be thermoses for people who needed a pot of coffee to last them (hot) an entire day (10-12 hours at work). I'm a couple years older than you, and I remember my father filling one up to go to his manufacturing job. This culture of having a drink to carry w/ them is "new" in the last 15 years in the USA. Not sure if there was something in the upper middle class to upper classes (I was raised working poor), but this need to have a beverage with them/you is new.
I pre-ordered the Cosmic Brushes mystery box as a birthday (late by a day) gift to myself.
The fig fragrance sounds amazing. I like the idea of it. Fig and Sandalwood are my two favorite scents to wear, I prefer them in a warm spicy fragrance.. so with the bourbon notes this could be lovely.. hrmm..
Patrick Ta's shadows aren't worth that
ОтветитьThank you for the heads up on Cosmic Brushes. Your link also included your discount! Thank you again for that. Thank you for your updates and always for your sense of humour. It is only coloured pigments after all.
ОтветитьI totally agree with you about Huda saying it is the last large palette she will offer. That may really be her intention, however, it is a great marketing ploy to drum up some sales. I, for one, have already ordered it :)
ОтветитьI ordered the cosmic brushes mystery box and used your code!!!! I'm so excited! I can't wait!
ОтветитьFrosty is a cartoon about school kids building a snowman. An evil magician who wasn't very good threw his hat away. It flew onto Frosty head and it brought him to life. It is a classic Christmas cartoon movie with Rhudolf the Red Nose Reindeer and some wonderful claymation.😊❤
ОтветитьDid I order the Cosmic Brushes' mystery box before Angi finished the segment about it? Why yes I did...lol
ОтветитьThere’s something about that Huda highlighter that looks like bacteria 🦠 growing in a Petri dish. 🧫 I can’t unsee it.
ОтветитьHii Angelica! I'm a big fan of yours for years, and just now I realized that you have the same last name as that famous swedish actor, the late Michael Nyqvist. I don't know if you get this a lot, but may I ask if you are related to him? I'm really curious right now... Hugs and kisses 😘
ОтветитьI don't get the Stanley cup thing. They're huge. They wouldn't fit in my handbag and why would you carry something that big around with you? I'm from the UK so beacuse of the climate, i've never felt the need to carry drinks around and if i did, i'd just have a water bottle in my bag. However, when I moved to Cyprus and it was much hotter, having a drink to hand was more of a thing but I just had a normal water bottle on my desk at work. I still wouldn't carry it around with me. I've actually never seen anyone carrying a Stanley cup in either country though.
ОтветитьI live in South East Asia,it's hot and humid here. We bring a water bottle everywhere SOMETIMES as big as that Stanley tumbler, but that added charms stuff is just an American thing,I think ? 😂 Nobody has time for that
ОтветитьHi Angeschka,
Love your video's! I would love to see a comparison between the Patrick Ta shimmer shades and indiebrand shimmers. That would be so helpful.
Hope you have an amazing day!
Mel
I do not get the comment on the cost, when on the other hand justifying special shades from an indie brand are "worth it" and 90USD palette isnt reeeally expensive? Ofc the blush is cheaper as it is not a "special shade". This looks like UD moondust shadow, they retail for 24USD this retail for 42USD so not really an outrage. I agree it's expensive for face paint, I will not buy it, however I do not understand the outrage at all if we the other minute justify indie brand prices due to "special shades" and "quality" and then on the other hand can not accept a "mainstream brand" to try the same thing. I think in general makeup is too expensive, times are hard and they are not getting better any time soon. Not buying any of these overpriced stuff, indie or not, and I wear makeup every day in the office. But call out every thing expensive and don't make excuses for certain brands. My 2 cents
ОтветитьPlease compare the Huda ice palette to her pretty grunge, ND glam, ND nude, Colourpop precious metals palette
ОтветитьLove the shiry and the eyes
ОтветитьIm thinking Huda will do 15 pan palettes. That's my prediction and that was my immediate thought when I heard that Huda said that.
ОтветитьThank you for your behind the scenes perspective of the cost of the Patrick ta shadows! I knew that seamed wack to me and this helped explain why!!! He needs to sit down with his pricing!!!👏🏼👏🏼
ОтветитьIt’s so funny, bc your exact prediction about huda and the big palettes is the same thing I thought. I don’t think this is her last palette at all. I definitely don’t see her just doing the 9 pans, bc most people say the quality isn’t the same between them and the big palettes.
ОтветитьI ordered the cosmic beauty mystery box and I used your code Ange! I was hoping they would restock the cooltrals, so I'll wait for that to buy the nudetrals with it.
ОтветитьReusable waterbottles are definitively a thing here in germany for all ages. But it's not a specific one. Some have expensive ones, some cheap ones for 2€ or use branded water bottles (like you go to a supermarket, buy water and then use this bottle again and again). But you don't hold it instead you put it in your bag. But the (Stanley)hype in america is not comparable with anything I have ever seen and it's 100% NOT spreading here...
We also do drinks to go but usually while walking around thte city or we sit down to drink like you said. Not in supermarkets and stuff.
I think the Patrick Ta duos are baked gelee shadows. So similar to Pat McGrath OG special shades. I'm not that surprised about the price point.
Ответитьa spanish here - we find stanleys (and their size) ridiculous 😂 everyone is carrying around these massive water bottles for what???
ОтветитьYour dress looks like it was designed for you.
ОтветитьI wonder what Huda has in mind. It’s reminding me of when bands say this is their last tour ever. Patrick Ta is positioning himself to be a luxury brand. Nope not for me.
ОтветитьI aLways carry a small (500 ml max) reusable bottle of cold water because I forget to drink enough water each day😅. Plus I hate plastic waste and refuse to buy bottled water. I just fill my little water bottle with some ice and water from a tap-yes I drink tap water. My daughter bought us those big cups and they don’t fit in my drink holders in my older car-too big.
ОтветитьYou obviously don’t get it she is getting attacked for being pro watermelon 🍉 P a l e s t I n e.
ОтветитьThe only place that I’ve seen people lumber around those stanley jugs is the gym😅 and the overnight workers at the hospital.
ОтветитьPatrick Ta shadows duo are 57$ in Canadian for two shades .... I'll definitely pass, I can get the Gargoyle palette 18 shades for 96$ CDN or even the Underland palette15 shades for a 100$ CDN, both duties included, still expensive but either one ot these is a far more better bang for my buck than Patrick Ta's
Ответить57 dollars CAD for those patrick ta eyeshadows. LOL easy pass.
ОтветитьI feel like those Patrick Ta duos are gonna flop in sales but just because of theit obscene price
ОтветитьI think the new Huda palette is similar to her rose quartz palette. Just a few less pastel shades. Just with a quick glance of it.
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьI come from Latvia, but had been living in Sweden for 5 years now, I work full time and I basically never see people with huge water cups. Also, I think the fact that water out of the tap is available everywhere helps, we come to the office and straight away grab a regular glass of water and refill during the day, jumping from one meeting to another. Otherwise, since I commute daily, I just can't imagine carrying so much extra weight for something available as soon as I come anywhere I'm commuting to haha.
ОтветитьI would LOVE to see you compare the Patrick Ta shadows with Indie shadows. I also think I want to buy a duo on sale, but I would love to see which brand you think are similar or better because I really can’t see myself buying more than one duo at that price point even on sale. I feel like the price point is comparable to Auric for luxury so might as well buy more of those if the formula isn’t blowing us out of the water 👀
ОтветитьAlso on the drink thing as an American who has lived in Europe before, we really aren't encouraged to take breaks to go get a glass of water and step away from our desks. So we really need something moderately large to reduce refill trips but be able to stay hydrated while at work. And because the US is soooo spread out and suburban - def need something for the 40-60 min commute which I would say is fairly common. I also notice that Americans just tend to prioritize hydration over Europeans? Literally I have a friend from Albania and we spent 4 days together and she had a total of like 30 oz of water (please someone cover this for me? 300mL?????) over the course of the entire long weekend.
ОтветитьLove that dress
ОтветитьAs somebody who lives in Italy and commutes A LOT with a bike I always carry a wayer bottle with me in my bag. As soon as the first metal bottles appeared I was over the moon because they keep fresh water cold and my tea hot for so long! Also makes refilling at water fountains easier because I don't have to bend over and get water all over my face if i'm in a rush XD Reusable metal water bottle are real game changer for me. But NOT reusable cups like those used for Starbucks or those ugly as hell Stanley whatever thingies. They take much space, they are shaped weird and would keep falling in my bag. I would poke my eye out with the straw, also the price is insane. They will all go in the dishwasher after a couple of travels, they WILL get scratched up rubbing against my stuff in the arena (aka my bag XD) and against other dishes. No way I'm spending more than 10 bucks for a water container. Also metal water bottle can double as a weapon if somebody attacks me and if they are pricey I wouldn't hit my attacker as hard because that s*it is expensive X'D
ОтветитьI am hoping to get one of these holiday palettes from ABH. Thank you so much for sharing.❤️🙂
