so you talk about tesla's robot id apreceate it if you used a real robotics company as an example, tesla is 15 to 20 years behind theyre compitition... theyre robot can slowly shuffle along... asimo did that or 17 years ago... meanwhile boston dynamics building robots that can parkour and to back flips... elon musk is a joke.

Wow you'res walk better than Elon's. The only humanoid robots worth talking about are by Boston Dynamics.

Maybe ten years ago I built a prototype of a tap dancing robot called Paddy O'Furniture. I used Basic Stamp and pneumatics. It was pre-3D printing so the project was pretty primitive but I made a few observations along the way. One is that a tapping toe needs two axes of movement. The other discovery was that knees are also essential: tap dancing without them is pretty awful. :-)

Thanks! Nice that a simple design such as that functions. Yesterday the stepper motor on one of My robots "passed away". Those need to be lower cost and lighter weight, so I can buy a replacement without worrying about if it will get on the plane easily.

with this as a starting point, building a robot platform, that could be piloted by a person is the next step. i see, that kind of thing, a pilotable platform as a two to three week project.

Tesla bot looks like something made by a 12 year old. I think robots that can walk are dumb. They are robots stop trying to make them like human.

Have you looked at Dr. Guero's upper vertical control code? I find the result of his algorithms mindblowing and very human like

It's slow and awkward, but there's an odd charm to this robot. It's trying it's best, and that's all we can ask of it.

I don't know who that tug boat captain was but his idea made for a pragmatic albeit slow walking robot. ;)
