I'll take notes for the future.
I usually not interested about WWI and II movies or dramas, but the ones you mention seem good.
Some you missed: the last kindom, Pilars of the hearth, Mad Men, Isabel, Nicolas le Floch
Omg the name pronunciations 😬
ОтветитьThe questions is where can I find them?
ОтветитьJust realized I watched 30 and I have a few that I found interesting to watch I’m excited.,,, am I the only one who doesn’t get as excited of the period drama if it’s a bit Morden like the 50 or 60s… I like them better when it’s ancient like the Victorian era or way before…. The outfits and everything r just enchanting
ОтветитьPlease do the movie list 🙏🏾
ОтветитьI love that you put all the series in predominantly a linear timeline of the stories. Got a few things to catch up on.
ОтветитьVictoria ❤
ОтветитьI just LOVE that this is in chronological order ❤
ОтветитьI haven't seen it, but I've been told that the Turkish series "Resurrection Ertugrul" is very good. Has anyone seen it and would they recommend it? I've never seen a Turkish historical drama but I love to try new things all the time!
ОтветитьJustice for Pan Am. 😩
ОтветитьWarwick is pronounced ‘ war rick’
ОтветитьMr Selfridge (starring Jeremy Piven) and The Paradise are also very good!
ОтветитьCan’t believe you recommended “”Reign. 👎
ОтветитьOh great. A bunch of tv shows that take copious liberties with history giving those who are lazy to read an actual history book license to believe the ridiculous storylines. All too including DEI crap broad invention. "The Great" about Catherine the Great has absolutely no depiction of the Orlov family who were monumental in helping Catherine seize the throne. "Bridgerton" continuing the false narrative that Queen Charlotte was black. She was not. She may have had an imperceptible hint of Moorish blood, but due to an abolitionist artist giving one portrait a "dark tinge" to her skin, the myth prevails. Before anyone else pops off on me, I am not criticizing the maker of this video. I am criticizing the creators of these shows for their lack of research. That's all. Again, not this video maker.
ОтветитьI have no idea why 'The Borgias' 2011 TV series was left off this list. The scenery & costumes in the series were spectacular and breathtaking. It stars Jeremy Irons in the lead role of Rodrigo Borgia/Pope Alexander VI & he portrays the historical figure brilliantly. It ran for 3 seasons before they completely blew the budget on the very costumes that made it such an incredible feast for they eyes but, it is still a must for any period drama fan. The cast was perfect for the character roles & the story lines were intriguing from the get-go.
ОтветитьI LOVE Outlander, The Great & Pride And Prejudice! I was looking for something new to Binge. Thanks for this <3
ОтветитьThank you for including Bonfire of Destiny. Found it on a recommendation list.
Also recommend to see Band of Brothers and The Pacific before seeing Masters of the Air.
Another WWII Era series is SAS: Rogue Heroes about the formation of the Special Air Service.
The Anne of green gables series is just awful. LM Montgomery would be mortified
ОтветитьWhere is magnificent century: Hürrem and magnificent century: Kösem
ОтветитьDowntown is the best
ОтветитьReign was so amazing
ОтветитьJust started watching The Empress
ОтветитьThe American accent narrative is weird.
ОтветитьGreat list! Some of my favorites shows not on the list are:
Roots
Underground
Lawmen: Bass Reeves
The Book of Negroes
The Good Lord Bird
The Sympathizer
Women of the Movement
Three Little Birds
Self Made
❤
ОтветитьIt's so great that you've included The Law according to Lidia Poët, an Italian period drama about a pioneering woman well worth remembering and celebrating! And Matilda De Angelis, the actress playing her, is such a delight. The 2nd season has also come out, have you seen it? In general I really appreciate that you also included non-English speaking dramas, not just British and American ones, I mean.
Ответитьbest to worst poldark , beecham house, victoria, grand hotel
ОтветитьThere is another series that I recommend. The borgias ❤
ОтветитьLeaving out Pillars of the Earth, World Without End, and The Alienist are a big - BIG - mistake for this list.
I would also mention Krøniken, which is a family saga from the early 50 to the 70 about a family-run radio-turned-TV factory.
There are some really interesting shows here, thanks for making this video! Love the editing ❤
ОтветитьWar and peace is my favourite! Been wishing for a similar series for years! Thanks for the list
ОтветитьEngland owns period drama
ОтветитьFYI its not Soccer, its football. 🙊
ОтветитьI loved the white queen, and the Spanish princess. Although the latter is painfully inaccurate.
ОтветитьThe Borgias?
ОтветитьMedici Masters of Florence, The Borgias and My lady Jane
ОтветитьMettez s'il vous plaît les séries existantes en français.
Merci
One more thats relatively new and I think would go between Pan Am and Daisy Jones and The Six is Eva Lasting. Showcases the lives on 5 friends that spend their high school years in an all boys public school in Colombia during 1976, their world changes when they meet Eva Samper, the first woman to enter their now mixed school. She introduces them to a different life, literature, feminism and the realities of her past. Highly recommended!
ОтветитьYou forgot BBC Musketeers
ОтветитьOther fun series:
Magnificent Century is a Turkish period piece set during the height of the Ottoman Empire.
Gentleman Jack is set during 1830s England and follows the tumultuous life of Anne Lister and is based on her diaries.
The Rise of Phoenixes is a Chinese drama based in a mythical ancient Chinese kingdom.
Love in Chains is a Russian period piece set in the 19th century.
