The only critique is the whole son storyline, since in the original, his focus was winning the heart of Lisa McDowell. Was the son a result of a one night stand before he started pursuing Lisa? It's just not fluid. I still want to see it....as for Pierre, he's a bitter has been and seriously a hater!

It won’t be good because a lot of these new “entertainers” are corny as hell. They should have left it alone or released the sequel in the early 90s.

They seem to miss the point of why people don't want to see the movie. Bringing up movies that had shit sequels isn't a good argument to why you should give the movie a chance. It's actually proving the point of MOST sequels shouldn't happen. And the only one that seems to know what he's talking about is the one getting shit on about not being in the movies.

I like the classic of Coming to America; however, Coming 2 America can also become classic too. Give this movie a chance to prove itself.

Look at Cobra Kai. If they are able to respect the content ..chill on the woke ..and most importantly concentrate on the writing,directing and acting, then maybe it will surprise us like Cobra Kai did. But looking at the trailer. .im also getting stage Madea vibes. Coming to America is top notch Eddie Murphy . A Huge classic. So you got to be careful with that. Cant just make an "entertaining " movie ..or just a so so. There beter be some solid ass writting in this bitch. P.S. damn that host is fine

I saw the trailer, I’m a bit nervous as well. Anytime a movie parodies something like black panther,I worry that it’s not going to do its own original thing. The original coming to America definitely blazed its own trail.

I just think it's hard to really review a movie without seeing it. I know the review is just on the trailer but I have seen movies that were great but the trailer was trash and vise versa. But for people saying it's a great movie or a trash movie before actually seeing the full movie should just watch the movie then review it

I was bored to tears, throw this in the garbage.

Amazing the difference between what audiences like, and what critics like! I've just finished watching it, with my son and his girlfriend. We all laughed, at the new stuff, whilst enjoying the echoes of the original. There was the shock of some of the many, many cameos- won't spoil it- but they had people from the music world and the acting world. Shari Headley, Garcelle Beauvais looked good, aging even better than Eddie and Arsenio. They toned down some of the blatant sexism of the original. Leslie Jones did less of the exaggerated eyes etc and gave a fine performance. Eddie and Arsenio gave us all the barbershop characters, and the singer and the reverend. Showed us they're as talented as they were in the 80s. Wesley Snipes had a ball, nearly ran away with the whole damn film! This is a fun, worthwhile sequel. Fabulous soundtrack. Eddie Murphy is back on form. Worth seeing!

We needed this perfect 🤩 timing. We don’t get good 😌 movies anymore. Hopefully this be a resurgence of more original black films.

The script was bad. Akeem was date raped 20 years ago and didn't know it and she had a son from it. Now, Akeem wants to take advantage of this son he didn't know he had in order to stop a rival country from invading his and killing him in the process.

Pierre funny as f I side with him. I watched the movie it was a 2star they could have done better a few jokes!!! Why want remember the time performed?? That’s classic where is set it off 2?

I would just like to say, Eddie Murphy said this wasn't a sequel but a stand alone or something to that effect. I think he was trying to quell peoples expectations of it being a sequel. In any case, although it was nice seeing everyone I didn't like the movie. Among other things it made the men look weak to me.

I think it is created for the young internet culture.
