once you have the portrait, have you considered getting it 3D scanned and thus getting smaller/larger versions of it produced via 3D printing?

I'm just so amazed at how confidently he could move. A novice sculptor would take much longer to place the features. Each stroke was so decisive!

After watching it several times I got it. Couldn t you seperate the plaster pieces with something very thin instead of doing this procedure with clay stripes?

How is the previous clay sculpture not harmed in the process? I saw that you used Shellac to seal the clay, but is the clay sculpture firm/ hard? I’m wanting to create a bust and make the molding with the silicone and then the plaster shell, but I’m worried about the first clay sculpture being ruined. Any tips?
