When adopting, one should look at many adoption agencies before proceeding. But I do feel sad for them.

I would hope more people would wait until marriage to have sex. You avoid so many things waiting for you. Like problems you never thought of.

Cait and Ty made the best and most mature decision that any young couple on this show have ever made. On MTVs dime, we watched far too many of these babies witnessing hard situations or abuse (ie. Amber Portwood, Janelle, countless more but those are the two I have little sympathy for). I do think they have a fundamental misunderstanding of where they’re supposed to be at now with B&T and Carly, I think they need to step back a bit and give Carly room as she grows and may choose to see them. It could be equally frustrating or confusing for her right now

I may have missed this but did MTV push that adoption agency on them or did they find it on their own? Because of it was the former, wowwwwww.

Tyler's mother had a lot of ... opinions about Catelynn. I mean of course she had a bias for Tyler and wanted both of them to take the next steps. After a while it sure seemed like Tyler's negative thoughts and feelings were mirrored by his mom on national TV. While she lacked a stable other herself.

JMO- I’m adopted so is my younger brother ( he’s from Bethany I’m not sure if I am even though I know about my adoption fairly well) the desperation of Carly’s adopted parents I feel they were sure C and T would grow up and be distracted with life where they wouldn’t be an issue - them being continually on the show changed that narrative- all I got to say about adoption- personally (my opinion) one is more vetted to adopt a cat or dog then get a kid - the money is what talks

Bethany Christian Services literally ripped migrant children from their parents' arms and sold them to American couples. Hell isn't hot enough for some people.

My mom was an absolute adoption success story who reconnected with her birth mother at about the age of 45 after discovering a half-brother on a genetic website. Her mother was 16 and pregnant and had chosen to give my mom up. It haunted her for her entire life, but in this case, it WAS the right choice for my mother’s sake. They’ve rekindled a relationship and it’s been wonderful. My mother and grandmother’s story is the exception.
When I learned that I might not be able to have children due to medical complications, I turned anonymously to the internet in grief. So, so many people said “oh don’t worry, you can just adopt!” as if it was this easy thing. As if that WAS a possibility for me. Thank you for highlighting the horrible conduct of the adoption agency that facilitated Caitlyn and Tyler’s story. I KNOW there can be adoption success stories, but consider also how shady it can be. The agency you discussed is one of the largest in the states. It costs thousands of dollars to adopt. It costs years of your life waiting for a child. Just because someone cannot give birth does not mean that they can “just adopt.” It’s a nuanced, complex issue that one should be entirely informed on before adopting, or surrendering for adoption. I feel for all parties in this case whom clearly, from the information provided to me in this video and linked post, were taken advantage of. It has led to lifelong consequences that benefit nobody, especially Carly.
