YOU WEAR A DIVERS DRY SUIT PLUS USE CARPET ON THE SOLES OF YOUR BOOTS WITH FOX URINE OR DOE IN HEAT SCENT, AND THERE'S NOTHING OF YOU THE DOG CAN SMELL . IF THE DRY SUIT KEEPS WATER OUT THEN IT KEEPS SWEAT AND ODOR IN THE CARPET GIVES THE DOG A FALSE SCENT NOT ASSOCIATED WITH A HUMANS SCENT . JUST A SPRAY OR SOAP IS NOT ENOUGH TO COVER UP THE ODOR OF YOUR SCENT GLANDS .
ОтветитьThis was great! Good job guys….
ОтветитьI would think a fence barrier that only allowed the dog to stay 15-20 yds down wind of the boxes would be more realistic? He'll if I ran up and sniffed inside the hole I could smell him🤣
ОтветитьBaking soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) and hydrogen peroxide make oxygen and water with washing soda (Sodium Carbonate).
ОтветитьDo any of those have colloidal silver? It works for me.
Ответить@seekone have u test the brand called scent blender I’m curious about that result with k9 dog could u make video thanks
ОтветитьHas anyone tested Zorbx?
ОтветитьThanks! What if the wind was stronger? Or not swirling? And maybe start the dog 100yrds plus. Good work
ОтветитьI use evercalm and it works….. makes me think, what if there where dog treats in all the other boxes?
ОтветитьSomething that would be interesting is if you could have him find the scent of the sprays. I believe they all have some kind of scent. If you sprayed it on a paper towel and had him find that in a box or up in a tree that would be interesting. People all deer season spray that scent stuff and I'm sure it has a scent that the deer can smell and associate that with danger.
ОтветитьIt’s long known that these products are just trying to get your money! And don’t work. Just use baking soda!!!!
ОтветитьShould have set up like 8 tree stands all different trees accessed from direction wind is blowing. Dog on other side, starting from direction wind is coming from and seeing if he can still find the human. This would be way more realistic. We don't usually hunt with our scent blowing right into the deer face
ОтветитьA lot of people are saying try the scent blocker suits - I can prove they don't work- the next time you are hunting with the suit on & fart I promise you will smell it - Case Closed !
ОтветитьDon't y'all realize that the dog is smelling the scent that has penetrated the cardboard?!?! Just watch how the dog approaches the boxes from downwind every single time.
not too mention the dog can freakin' see y'all.
We all know this stuff does not work it just helps a little but what would have liked to see is the handler stay back with the guys and NOT walk towards any boxes.......................................................
ОтветитьPure skunk essence has been the best I’ve found 👍🏻
ОтветитьMuch of your scent is in your breath so not really any way to scent control that.
ОтветитьI’ve have and use an ozonics unit. They def are not snake oil. I haven’t had a deer slip me and get down wind and blow since I started using it. They have gotten nervous could tell something wasn’t quite right but never blew and eventually calmed down and went on their way. I had them turn around and slowly walk off. But never blown. I’d say they can still def get a little bit of you but not enough to pinpoint you or know for sure 100 percent what it is.
I wonder how long they let the ozonics run in the box before letting the dog go. It takes a few mins or so for the unit to put out enough o2 to latch onto all the odor molecules.
Like a comment in here early. The goal is to use the wind and not let them know you are there at all. The next goal is to eliminate as much of your odor as possible. To not smell strong and close. If it’s minimal as possible then our hope is to trick the deer into thinking they are ok and that the threat odor is far away. Vs a dog is trained to find the source. So if they pick up any tiny little hint of the smell they are looking for then the follow it and go straight to the source.
ОтветитьSmoking my clothes always does the trick!
Ответитьshoulda tried it with Scent Thief. That one definitely has us wondering.
ОтветитьI did a test with a 6 month old puppy, German shorthair and this dog naled it every time from 30+ yards with no problem ya better play the wind or u will loose
ОтветитьWhat’s everyone’s general opinion on spraying your up to around your knees with scent eliminator I have been paid for doing this for a long time and I have only been busted 2 or 3 times.
Is everyone else using sent eliminating spray in this way?
That’s it. I’m hanging out my scent lock suit in the backyard with all the rest of my hunting clothes, airing out and then packing them in a plastic bin with leaves.
ОтветитьI was using all the different scent control things, soap, deodorant, laundry soap, sprays and wasn't having any luck. My husband would go out not hunting and have deer on the trail cam 5 minutes after he left. I now use his head and shoulders shampoo and deodorant and have deer all over!
ОтветитьYou're talking about animals that can smell salt... You're not going to hide your scent
ОтветитьShould have tried earth scent
ОтветитьCan you guys try Dead Down Wind?
ОтветитьI already know. I am a retired police k9 instructor. They donot work. We tried it numerous times with our dogs. They do nor work because your constant putting out odor.
ОтветитьI'd be curious about how well the ozone machines would perform on this type of test
ОтветитьYa clearly the products dont work lol
ОтветитьNeed to duck. Dogs have eyes can see into the holes
ОтветитьI look at “scent control” as tricking a deer. I don’t believe you can truly eliminate scent. It’s reducing the scent enough to make the deer believe you’re 100yds and not 30yds away reducing his flight response. The dog is seeking a scent for reward even if it’s not a concentrated amount. Best product that I’ve used is Camo Dust. It is somewhat messy but definitely seems to help buy time for a shot at close range. We use it constantly. It doesn’t introduce moisture and moisture holds scent.
ОтветитьI use smoke! Just make a little fire, get some green brush, preferably a cedar or pine bow, and let the smoke soak in and it works
ОтветитьPack your clothes in a box of apples, it works.
ОтветитьCan't say I've ever really thought scent sprays did much to eliminate your odor in the field, I still use them to spray done my guess and clothes (as well as scent lok clothing) but all this is just an attempt at reduction, your still breathing when your sitting it the woods, your always going to produce scent no matter how good a product is (short of hunting in a space suit).
So hunting the wind and reducing scent as much as possible is the way to go
The dog can also smell his breath and skin
ОтветитьI've never believed the scent control products work. Deer can pick you off from over a mile away. You're not going to fool that with anything in a bottle.
I think some people think it works because they've had some experiences that led them to conclude that. Deer down wind that didn't exhibit behaviors indicating they noticed. But I would counter that sometimes the deer don't care. They know you're there, but they go about their business. I've had that happen too, especially during rut. Several times after I gave up on all the scent control stuff.
I've also been in a stand and watched deer get pushed by other hunters a half mile away. They did the full scent control regime and were upwind from my position. Sometimes I can tell when someone is hunting a spot just by observing how deer exit the bedding I'm hunting. I'll meet the guy in the parking lot after dark and watch him take of his ScentLok, put it in an air tight tote, the whole 9 yards... Take off his rubber boots for sneakers, etc.
I don't like saying you're wasting your money. I'm not ashamed to admit I have a ScentLok suit. There was a time I bought into it. Until observations taught me it didn't make a difference. Now I just don't think it works. To each their own. I think the most important thing is confidence. If it gives you that, then have at it. My personal experiences is that not only do they not work, they don't even make a difference. I play the wind and thermals. That's what has brought me the most success. Woodsmanship. Not a magic suit.
YMMV. If you disagree, go with whatever gets you out there. As long as we're in the woods, we all win. Some of us just a little more than others. ;-)
Do some of those products have a longer application wait time than 15-20 minute? I seem to recall it being a longer application period.
ОтветитьTake a shower apply triclosan. Dont sweat hold breathe
ОтветитьIve always said, you cant beat a deers nose. They can smell your breath. The only advantage i see is like you guys said, maybe reducing your scent helps, ecspecially in a swirling or high wind.
ОтветитьCamo dust?
ОтветитьThe problem is the person let's off the smell. So there is always a scent.
ОтветитьIf someone is running and they hear they're about to release a bear on them I guarantee they will immediately give up and plead to not let it out. 😂😂😂
ОтветитьId love to see an active carbon suit test
ОтветитьDon't know where to begin with the flaws. You guys should design a broadhead test where the smallest cut on contact wins lol😂 good show!
ОтветитьUse clorox and ammonia in a small spray bottle.
It'll frag the dogs' scent receptors for a few hrs...
(I'm Not responsible for side effects)
If you don't know...
That's chlorine gas.
⚠️DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT try this on YOUR DOG.
Emergency evasion use only.
Seriously.
DON'T DO IT.
So is the pup looking for human scent or the spray? If he’s looking for human scent does he have something that hes using like piece of clothing or a hat?
ОтветитьThis isn't the full picture. This shows we cannot with common techniques 'eliminate' human scent signature. However, this is apples to oranges. The dog has a clear task, find this unique scent at any perceivable concentration and locate the source. A deer's mission is quite different. In the vast majority of deer habitat locations in the US a deer can never NOT smell some detectable concentration of human scent. Humans and deer live and occupy spaces that are too close together and a deer's nose is sensitive enough that it is ALWAYS smelling some concentration of human scent. The deer has to use it's nose to determine if the scent is close enough and in a location where it could be a THREAT. As hunters we need to trick a deer's nose into thinking we are further away than we actually are. This doesn't require elimination of our scent, merely reduction in concentration to the point where a deer perceives us as far enough away to not be a sufficient threat to alter their path and activities.
ОтветитьThe goal of all these products is to make money. None of them control or eliminate scent. They only make money.
