I was looking at the husky 150 or the strainer but I got talked into a crf250f and redoing the suspension. That bike will tractor! It's a better entry point for a new rider imo. My next bike will definitely be a 2t husky or beta or something of that nature though

I bought a crf250f as my first ever bike and I outgrew it within months, yes it’s a good beginner bike and yes you can learn techniques on it but I went to a KTM 350 xcfw and got used to it insanely quick and I wish I would have went straight to a big bike

We just bought a couple of dirt bikes for riding around our farm in North Florida. We bought a Honda CRF125F for my wife and the Honda CRF125FB for me. I had a Suzuki 250 and a Husky 250 years ago. When i say years ago, i mean almost 50 years ago.

I don't get the 150 for hard enduro. You must mean 250, unless it is for younger teenagers and smaller women. You can't do hard enduro on a 150 if you weigh 220.

I'm looking to get into riding dirt bikes ... dabbling in a mix of mild motorcross and trail riding... I've ridden dirtbikes before, but I would definitely class myself as a beginner... no expert! I'm wanting to do it for fun ... not serious stuff. I'm 6' 3" and just shy of 110kgs (around 242 pounds?) I've narrowed it down to a couple of bikes - one is a 250 air cooled 4 stroke 18.8HP, the other is a 300 (279cc) liquid cooled 4 stroke 27HP .... so I'm pretty sure I'm in the right region of engine and bike size.... but now have no real clue as to which one, air cooled or liquid cooled? Any suggestions?

just bought a yz450 2021 for first dirtbike. I've ridden sportbikes all my life and do track. so figured the 450 would be a good match. turns out, i was way right. way easier to ride and omfg im actually upright turning and shit. wheelies are way easier to control and do as well..

I grew up riding dirt bikes in the golden era of the late 60's and early/mid 70's...I started on a store bought 3 hp mini bike then a Vespa 150 scooter that believe it or not I learned a lot about going fast in the woods with it and those small tires and also became very skilled at pulling wheelies with it. Then to a Bonanza mini cycle with a hodaka 100cc motorcycle engine a with 5 speed transmission that was basically a mini bike with suspension...it would pull wheelies at 50 mph with a top speed of 60mph. Then a Yamaha 125cc DT, then a YZ100, then a YZ 125 as a 17 year old, where I earned my first AMA Expert/Pro License. If you really have never ridden a dirt bike in anger I would recommend learning on no more than a 175cc bike, the 450's are way too dangerous but so are the 250's for a real novice.

In my opinion the xtrainer is "THE" starter bike for trail single and double track and Enduro! Just when you order it run it through the suspension program get set up for your weight and terrain. Don't be concerned with the two stroke engine it will last a long time before you have to do a top end you will be ready for an upgrade by that time.

I'm 220lbs 6' and I basically just want to learn to wheelie and do stoppies without being crushed by a street motorcycle. Will a 125 be good enough? A bicycle can do a stoppie but I'm not sure how well wheelies would translate to a streetbike.

I have ridden mx, hare scrambles, and gncc/woods races for over 25yrs.. I have owned and raced approx 15 different bikes of all makes, displacement, along with 2 stroke & 4 stroke, obviously as I started racing in 1992.. When I got back into racing vet/40+, I found I was struggling with too much power & weight.. Rode a friends CR125 built with good custom suspension, OMG, I fell in love again with lightweight bike that loves my style of riding.. After that ride in 2019, I found a barely used 2015 ktm 200.. and used xcw parts to turn it into the 200xcw that I always wished I could buy.. Its fucking amazing, perfect for my 215lb 6ft 1" ass to rip for hours in the woods.. I hate to admit that I prob have over $10k in the bike even after buying it used for $4800.. I'm keeping this one forever, no matter what.

I found this video because my Beta 390RRS is too powerful for me to learn obstacles, pivot turns, and other hard enduro on. Even on the lower map I find the throttle too sensitive to learn to wheelie and pivot on. Thanks for the free advice! I think I'll look towards the KTM150 XCW to learn these skills on and hopefully be able to transfer those skills to my 390. I love my 390, but I'm really trying to focus on skills. I'd love to try out a Beta X trainer too.

Nice video. Some well intentioned constructive feedback would be to practice on your verbal delivery. There are some areas where it's very easy to insinuate something other than what it is you are actually conveying.

Even for us native language speaking English persons, it is a very complex language.

One example is when you were at the end communicating the differences between KTM, Beta, Gas Gas...

It felt like you knew you were towards the end of the video and were rushing to get it done, when of course that would not make any sense realistically, as you are simply recording a video in your own domain without any constraints.

You say GAS GAS is the cheaper version of the KTM Family, while the Husqvarna is the premium line of it. And then you quickly say, without any pauses, that KTM is the race race version and the Gas Gas is the more affordable version"... It's not clear with how fast you say it what the KTM actually is within the family lineup. Probably ask a peer to watch it and give you straight feedback.

Beginners probably aren't going to internalize what you're trying to teach at that point. If Husqvarna is the premium model, why would that not be the race version? The word you said the fastest out of the whole video were quickly followed by what I just mentioned then KTM is...

Personally, I speak very quickly myself. People who don't know me or may just be a little bit slower Will sometimes not be able to keep up with what I'm saying. It's much more effective and polite to slow down. I speak to both of us on that point.

Lastly, unless the corporate owner of all the brands made a strategic decision to change how the brands are pronounced, you are mispronouncing beta and Husqvarna. For anybody that isn't a beginner, it immediately lowers your perceived level of subject matter expertise. That's just human nature, no way around that but to pronounce correctly.

Otherwise, great job. Sincerely. I wouldn't take several minutes to leave a comment otherwise. Keep it going, bud.
