I just don't understand having marshmallow on them. I'm not a fan. But everything in them super yummy. I like candied pecans and brown sugar on mine.

I don't like mushy sweet potatos.

Mom did it exactly the same way but before putting it in her pan, she mixed in chunks of the yams, to give a touch of texture. Its like a great tomato soup or mashed potatoes...that is mostly blended but some chunks held out and mixed in after the blending was done...
Sometimes she'd toss in pecan halves.

Sweet potatoes are sweet, naturally sweet enough without added sugar/sweeteners. They are named sweet potatoes for a reason. They don't need more.

Perhaps some sugar for a dessert. But not alongside a main.

My husband, our daughter & I went to our youngest sons house for Christmas. When I talked to my daughter in law about what to bring, she told me, my grandkids loved the sweet potato casserole I’d made 2 years ago. She said that we probably wouldn’t be able to have Christmas without it! One of my twin grandsons told me that it was really good & that he loved it. It is one of my favorites too.

Bake the sweet potato first it concentrates all the sweetness into the potato. They are easy to peel after cooling.

I put a little coconut an chopped pecans in mine an it's yummy.

How could it not be good with all those yummy ingredients!
