I'm actually surprised that people can even see anything beautiful about Sofia. The air and city is extremely dirty. The infrastructure is really poor. And it has now become extremely expensive to rent - not what it used to be. I used to live there for 2 years. I'm sorry but it's really far off from being called a European City.

To compare, to how many Airbnbs have you been to call this particular AirBnb the best in Sofia?

Check out Plovdiv and you won’t be so negative. It’s a totally different city, you might even like it.

As an American i went to Bulgaria in 2020. I found it bleak and depressing. I'm sure it has its good side but for me not worth a 20+ hour flight for a redo. The old architecture is cool though.

Sofia is a cool city. I stayed there on the off chance and loved it. Nice people, churches, architecture and restaurants. Would recommend a visit.

Late comment but...welcome to the capitol of a country that has so much tradition, culture, and history that just keeps getting forsaken in favor of the Western countries which it strives so hard to be like instead of gaining its own individuality. But...as a small country, I suppose all of that is understandable.
