Die VCM Objektive und die Z Serie sind für mich indiskutabel da der Blendenring für Fotos mit Kameras die vor Juni 2024 ausgeliefert wurden nicht nutzbar ist! Auch die Aussage das der Fokus und die Blende verändert wird bei Berührung des Blendenrings wenn man zum Beispiel mit einer R5 Mark I oder R6 Mark I und II Videos macht ist ein absolutes Ausschlusskriterium für mich und viele andere! Wenn Canon sich selbst sabotieren will dann sollen sie das tun! Es wird den Erfolg der VCM Objektive schmälern! Ich bleibe aber trotzdem Canon treu wie seit mehr als dreißig Jahren! I don’t understand why Canon released bigger and heavier lens. Only for variable aperture? It’s not sharper or better quality image than previous rf 70-200.

What I really want to know is, why is the black lens slightly heavier than the white version?

Truely a high price as well.

I am afraid that if I order an item from B&H Photo Video Pro Audio, it will arrived damaged from the carrier. It is becoming way too often with B&H.

Hybrid? Technically, maybe. It's a video lens that you happen to be able to shoot stills through. HEAVY. HUGE. Controls that stills shooters cannot use. Canon has gone video. The day of stills shooters is over (at Canon, at least).

While this is cool… I will stick with my 1st gen RF version. I just love the portability. But the fact you can use this more with video is really intriguing

I hear a lot of trash talking the old lens. We’ll see how the optical quality compares to the new lens but I think the optical quality is great and being so compact makes for a great travel lens. When my old one dies maybe I’ll get the new one.

Finally they got a professional looking 70-200mm lens. That old one always reminded me of a cheap travel lens 🤷🏽‍♂️

I’m really glad that they’re offering this lens in both a black finish and the standard white L series color.

I’d take 1 or 2 in black lol
