After five years this machine comes with the same screen panel. Wow!

Wizard:
1. selftest
2. x, y, z calibration
- remove steel sheet for calib and put on sheet of paper
- clean nozzle
5. 9 point Mesh Bed Leveling
- this is height calibration before every print
- put on steel sheet
6. Temperature Calibration/heating
7. Load Lilament (this will come up in wizard or find the load filament procedure in settings)
8. First Layer Calibration
- clean the bed (and then replace steel sheet on top)
- this will begin to print test line
- manually adjust Z (usuakky to -1mm)
- prints a small piece
9. clean the bed again to get printing by saving your .gcode file on SD card
(use PrusaControl from drivers package?)

Thanks for this Josef, very interesting to know how to set up correctly. I was given a Prusa i3 (I think it may be one of the very first models. I’ve been replacing parts which were broken etc and it seems to be okay, except for an issue with the software. It is a 200mm cube print area, and I wanted to know how do I get the software to reinstall on the machine. I think it’s got a glitch in it. Any and all assistance is appreciated 😊

unless you are prepared to go through the fiasco that i am currently experiencing I highly recommend not purchasing a printer from prusa...

I have still a i3 mk3s with a error mintemp.
After replacing the extruder cable and the extruder thermistor and also the heatbed cable.
Which I thought to be the problem.
But the error is still there.
I even did a factory reset but that did work either.
Could you please help me out with my problem.
I'm lost now and don't know what to do now.

When i calibrated z , it show calibration failed! check the axes and run again ,I checked that the bozzle heads were installed correctly

If Your nozzle catch a paper check if your nozzle is clean there could be some plastic stick to it. Happened to me and cost me almost heart attack😂

I'm using the glass bed on an ender3 from late 2019 and do not ever have to clean the bed after a print in over 2 mos. with both ABS and PLA I go through an entire spool of filament and only re level 2-3 times. I wipe the bed with a dry paper towel about twice a month. I wash the glass in the sink with dish soap and comet about twice a year. All the slicing in in Cura. The printer menu has poor selection ability, but It still prints every day all day non stop. The miniature memory card is junky. We would like to now get into this Prusa and be able to tweak it for similar performance. I will never understand why you ppl making these machines don't just put USB sockets on these things once and for all !!

This video saved my ***. I got the fully assembled version and thought I needed to do calibration but it erases the already configured calibration. I really didn't know what to look for in the first layer and giving me the reference point of "about 1mm" was exactly what I needed to know to start. Thank you!!!

The holes in my print plates don't align with the two screws at the back of the heat bed

Is nozzle suppose to make direct contact with the paper or sit just above it?

I just bought my first Prusa last week and already i cant wait for it to get here... 3-4 weeks to go...

I keep trying to print the file from the SD card but it's not on there
I also tried printing other files from the SD card it came with but it keeps telling me to remove the filament And refuses to start the print
I've looked everywhere in the handbook and nothing is helping with this issue

Hi, I'm hoping to you clarify what you mean by "catches on the paper"? 3 of the calibration points the nozzles touches but does not drag the paper, the 4th it drags the paper a little, is that what you mean by catching ? The nozzle does not seem to be contacting the heat bed in that spot.

I want one! I have an Ender pro 3 but it does not even compare to this. I'm working on creating my our minis for revamping the world of RIFTs. The quality I can squeeze of of the Ender 3 isn't bad but this printer would be the best! I'm just a poor Basic Painter..lol

When setting my printer for the first time, I ran the self-check, I received error message "Axis Length Axis X" I moved the wire ties as suggested on the chat rooms with no change. How do I correct this?

From a 3d printer guy perspective such as my self, these calibration steps are a waste of time.
Also, this lcd is ANCIENT TECHNOLOGY.
For 1500 USD, I would want to see what flyiingbear has at the very least.
Also, does this run on ancient. Rampa board as well ?

Does it have built in stepper controllers or removable so it can be upgraded for silent or more powerful ?
Does it have a shutdown feature at the end of the print ?
The M81 switch relay I put on all my printers.
Does it have thermal ranout protection in firmware ?stops the print when temp goes up too fast or drops too fast.

Can’t wait to get one, too bad Fed Ex demolished the first one that came to me
