I used the exploit of finding a "playing dead" enemy after a fight and then repeatedly stealing items from him and putting them back all while always paused to reach 96
Getting caught levels it faster which is what you want via that method which is why you want an enemy cause it'd generate a lot of hatred otherwise
Coulda gone further but I got bored :-P
You know if you get stuck in jail with 5 items in your inventory for 2 nights you can get it to 85 if you make the speed x2

ОтветитьI always get thievery to 95 in the first night with single 1-armed Rock Bottom character. Get into general shop, steal stacks of books and placeholders for books to stay in rightmost column of inventory, drop one by one on the ground inside shop with pause, then unpause and fast click them all back. Safe, fast and effective.
ОтветитьEach time I have to resist the temptation of stealing everything I can get my hands on when city browsing, don't encourage me.
ОтветитьFunny thing, while watching this I found an even better way of leveling it! A dust bandit was attacking my door after I had gotten back from an unsuccessful haul from stack, and I opened the doors as I was going in and met him and knocked him down, i thought he was unconscious but he was playing dead and i only had a 5% chance to strip him, so i kept trying until it got all the way up to 40% chance, so I looked at my thievery skill and HOLY SHIT 68!!! This happened in less than a day! Just putting this out there for other people!
Ответитьthe police station in squin is where i get all my lock and thievery training, even recruited more than a few dust bandits from the jail. go to the second floor and practice on dummies. just beautiful.
ОтветитьI just repeatdly pick and drop the same item while in stealth, in a corner of a bar, gives more xp then if taking from a container, usually get to 60 in 4 or 5 ingame hours;
I think like stealth the more npcs nearby the more xp it gives you.
The Crab Raiders don't seem to count your stealing as a crime, so you don't get the 30 sec timer that stops you earning XP. Pause the game, and keep stealing and putting things back from a container, and you get heaps of thievery skill very fast. You can just right click both ways, so that's the quickest way to do it.
ОтветитьWell, this works too, lol. Probably less setup than pantsing early game anyway. Pantsing is still great for mid/late game training if you're so inclined--as soon as you get access to cages and the peeler machine, you can "make" a "training dummy," and keep them on hand. I have one at my base and, while all of his limbs are hopelessly broken, he's very well fed for a hungry bandit.
