I’m partial to the idea that SCP-001 is The Snail, which will kill the immortal Administrator (ranked above the O5 Council) if it ever catches up to them.

New Test:
Class D-personnel conduct test to unlock SCP-001 using SCP-005.
-Test will be conducted within lockbox of SCP-004, SCP-004-7. All items and personnel placed within SCP-004-7 are irretrievably lost when lid is closed and then re-opened. O5 council has determined that this location is the safest place to test the opening of SCP-001.
Test will be conducted with at least two level 4 personnel on site, as well as attaches from O5 staff, to observe the gravity of the situation. If a PATMOS XK-class end-of-the-world scenario is deemed a potential outcome, the lid will be closed for no less then one year.
If the above scenario does not seem to take place, O5 attaches will move forward with [DATA REDACTED].
