The new Korea president is communist-leaning so these reporters are right when they report that the new president and his party want a relationship with China and North Korea. My parents and parent’s friends were all disheartened (and literally depressed and sick) when they heard that the president was being replaced with this puppet. My parents are in their 80’s and lived through the Korean War (when Korea was the second poorest nation in the world). I recall visiting S Korea in the early 80’s and it was a third-world country. The taxi driver criticized my sister and me for speaking English. Lotte hotel was one of the only hotels that had western toilets. Many citizens had outhouses and porcelain toilets on the ground where one squats. Lotte hotel had an American food section with powdered milk, and Spam. Now that Korea is considered cool (K-pop and skin care), they are at risk, if they do not align with the US. The younger generation has no clue according to my parent’s generation. Korea has gone from dirt poor to economically advanced in a short amount of time. Thank God the USA stepped in during the Korea war otherwise the south would also be communist, my parents would have never immigrated for graduate school, and I would not be American. Rather I’d be North Korean. I do hope Trump and any US president puts the new president in his place.
