i broke 2 xl motors. they are powerfull and fast, but durability is on ev3 large motor level
ОтветитьHey dude, you know you're allowed to blink when you record these vids, right? Jokes aside, great video as always!
ОтветитьI couldn't disagree more with the Mack truck. I love that set. When you add RC capability it becomes even better.
Ответитьu hate the 42082? and you dont hate the 42197? i dont get it
ОтветитьGood video, I think I pretty much agree. But one set I would definitely include is 42146. I mean it's great how huge it is and the pulleys work great, but for true technic fans it's incredible dissapointment - not a single gear in the superstructure, wrong proportions (in a licenced set) and the jib is very boring as it's only from special frames (if it was made from beams like 42042, it would have like 5000 pieces, I know).
ОтветитьNice Mr Plinkett reference
ОтветитьGetting back into lego around 2020, I got some of these sets like rough terrrain crane, mobile crane, 4x4 RC crawler and I found them to be a lot of fun. Especially since I did not have any power functions technic set previously, and could not do a comparison. I like them as they are. I especially loved the rough terrain crane with so many gear pieces, multiple distribution gearboxes and all of that powered by a single motor. The mobile crane had a cool 8 wheel steering system, and the crane functions worked great. I did modify the two HOG sterring 'lights' to both turn in the same direction for steering as that made much more sense.
The 4x4 crawler was my first RC technic set and very fun to play with using mobile. I did make the gear change mod provide more torque, instead of speed.
I think if any set deserves to be in this list is all the recent technic 'cars' both large and medium sized, with barely any functions and a gazillion stickers.
btw when deciding to buy and technic set, I generally go by gears to parts ratio :)
Worst top of normal toys
ОтветитьI wish modern sets had motor upgradability, that would make them much less disappointing to me! Great video Unbrickme, a very classic styled one!
ОтветитьFor me, an old 1993 flagship 8872 is one of the worst Technic sets.
Especially if take in mention, that 1992's flagship 8868 and 1994's 8880 are both the legendary sets
Bro you smoking too much
ОтветитьYour outdoor clips are just on another level!
(that long staring contest at the beggining was a bit scary ngl😅)
Bro gearboxes aren’t everything
I could not disagree more with your 2 picks. My criteria for a good technic set is how good a parts pack they are for alternative models. The rough terrain and mobile crane are 2 of the best ever released. If you go on rebrickable there are dozens of amazing alternate builds for each of these. I have remade both of these sets over 10 times each to something completely different each time.
You should do a top 10 of technic sets for alternate builds and put these 2 at the top.
I will say, after playing and steering my Mack Transport Truck, the steering has broken
Ответитьthe racingbrick glaze is so real
Ответить42069 is one of my favorites - it's an original vehicle, with tons of fun builds and functions, and looks amazing.
ОтветитьI remember the morning 42113 got canceled I think I saw it on beyond the brick and I through it was a joke at first. I still really want to get it though
ОтветитьI see a pattern here, you love gearboxes!
ОтветитьThat hair
ОтветитьI only own 2 of the 10 on this list, must be for a subconscious reason. An interesting list would be Top 10 not owned/wanted models
ОтветитьWow, I didn't realize all those awesome looking sets like the Extreme Adventure and Mack Anthem lacked so many functions compared to other sets. It's ironic, it seems the more aesthetically appealing the set, the less functional it is.
ОтветитьBig red is supposed to have pads for the out riggers. That's what the reel Cranes have.
ОтветитьI strongly recommend a short haircut. You look like you just rolled out of bed. Your videos are so polished why not make yourself polished too.
ОтветитьCompared to other brands' builds and prizes, almost all of the LEGO technic sets of the last 10 Years were dissapointing...
Ответить42069 is still one of the most beatiful sets ever.
ОтветитьI didn’t know you had a son! How old are you?
ОтветитьNot the 42096, it's one of my favourite 🥲
ОтветитьMajor disappointment for every single Technic: low grond clearance, gears not protected by anything, the speed lower than walking turtle, almost no proper offroad suspensions for most, garbage controls by app in smartphone instead of proper controller.
ОтветитьHow can you ever knock set 42069 it is by default the best set ever!
ОтветитьBro u kidding me???? 42069 was a steal for the price and was more pieces than the flagship for that year, honestly I would put that as flagship for the year, plus it was full of functions and live suspension, smh. Also the 42099 crawler went down in price a year after release making it a steal. 42078 Anthem was amazing in every way and accurate making it a good parts pack for a good price (and not everything needs to have a gearbox). Finally 42082 was advanced for its price and was heavily discounted a couple years after release making it a good parts pack as well and definitely a better value crane and than 42146. End of rant😅
ОтветитьNo, I disagree. You've included excellent sets in this "top". 42078 is an incredibly beautiful set, with interesting functions (Interesting mechanism HoG, which you mentioned yourself, interesting double lifts). 42082 is also a great set, many interesting functions, huge, beautiful, functional, all-wheel drive. No suspension? With suspension it would be unplayable and would constantly tilt. That's probably why Lego didn't add it. 42069 is also good.
P.S.: gearbox is not always the main criterion of set's coolness. Sometimes monotonous gearboxes get boring, and you just want interesting mechanisms, but it's my opinion😉
42078, 42069 and 42082 are cool sets
ОтветитьWow, that was actually amazing! So well-executed.
ОтветитьMassive disagree on putting the rough terrain crane on #1. IMO it is one of the best sets when it comes to technic functions. Just to drive every function with the use of one single motor is awesome (OK, downside is you cannot use two or more functions at the same time, agree). Many other sets have Control+ functionality, but that is stupid electronics -- not clever Technic!
The RTCrane is great value for money, it is a serieusly tall crane. And like one other said, these cranes always use plates under their outriggers -- to me this is no design failure. The red/black color scheme it gorgeous, if you ask me. And I think itbis just a strong point that it doesn't need any new or unique parts. This is just pure Technic to the max! I'm just so glad it has no Control+ functionality. I wish many more big Technic sets skip this electronic sh*t.
Vai pentear o cabelo 😂
ОтветитьThe plastic in 42082 is still some of the worst produced parts that I have ever gotten in a Lego set. If I run my fingers over the Technic beams (NOT the side with the holes in it), I can feel that the plastic is ribbed.
ОтветитьBuilt 42113 out of parts I had in my collection. Honestly it’s size is extremely big. If I put it next to the ucs AT-AT it would easily take up 3/4 of it. The reason the set got thrown out was due to bad engineering practices. The excuse for its removal was thanks to cancel culture.
ОтветитьI miss the 8295 Telehandler. Dodgy steering and hard to operate without optional motor
ОтветитьThe cheapest excavator is 42147
